Wow thanks man, that's a great review and I'm glad you enjoyed the tunes. I'm with you on enjoying JF's later vocals more than the first 2 albums, but for me, it's really about expression and emotion coming through. You probably can't hear much of it on my songs, but I'm a big punk fan, and for me, the main thing I take from punk is the ethos. It doesn't have to be technical, it doesn't even have to be perfect, if it conveys something real and heartfelt then it's good, or at least effective. On that note, I definitely appreciate the compliment on my tone, I know I'm not the most technically gifted singer (though I definitely can improve a great deal), but what I'm looking for is my vocals to supplement the feel of the song and if my tone is effective then I think I'm doing that.
But, I've only been singing for about a year or two, and the first time I got behind a mic to record (on the song A Fond Memory), I had no idea what would come out.

On another note, if you ever have a chance to talk about the means through which you pitch songs to bands or how to get to a level where that's something I could feasibly do, I'd love the insights. I'm still very much an amateur, but I've had a lot of people tell me they enjoy my stuff, and more importantly I enjoy making it and I think that comes through in the music, so I am looking to see how far I could take this.

Hey, thanks, I've gotten a lot of "reminds me of" comments, none of them the same song/band haha. But I love Nirvana so I think that's great.

Hey, I think that's cool that you found a way in to the music industry. I've never been more than an amateur, but I've progressed a lot in a few short years and might be looking to do something similar (pitching my songs to other bands/singers to record).

This is my friend's soundcloud, he posts all the recordings we do up there. A Fond Memory, Only One I see and A Realization are my songs, and the rest I either co-write parts of the music or help produce. There's a couple jams on there as well. I'm gonna post my latest offering shortly, and I think it's my best/poppiest so I'd be interested in your feedback.

Another new song and video. Heavily influenced by John. Let me know what you think.

Hey, I like this, and you definitely have a John sound going on (I think you mightve borrowed the intro/verse chords from an RHCP song). You bring your own persona and style into it though, and it sounds great man. Keep it up.

Great stuff! I definitely see the Alice in Chains (and also Nirvana) influence on your first song. You've got a unique singing style which I dig, only thing I'd advise is you've got some great lyrics so make sure people can understand what you're saying.
Also like the solos a lot, it's obvious you got the technical skill, but you keep it simple, articulate each note and focus on it sounding good.
Only criticism or, more so a suggestion I'd have is to make a 2 to 3 minute song. Your songs contain a fair bit of repetition, which isn't bad at all but puts it into a pop format in my mind (kind of like bobster's comment about shampoo commercials lol). I think shortening some of the parts in the future and getting to the guitar solos/outros a little earlier would make your stuff even catchier.

Great job man, if you have a chance check out some of my stuff, I'd be interested in your feedback.
