Edited the title, there's a handy rule that says that titles have to make some sense. Hope you don't mind! <3
No Quarter by Led Zeppelin sounds a lot like The Empyrean songs

I noticed the same similarity some time ago, but I thought I was hearing things...seeing things...whatever.

yeah thanks for picking up my slack and sorting the title iva heh.
Yeah i think that keyboard stuff just has exactly the same vibe as the whole first half of empyrean, you know like really murky etc. That's the vibe i absolutely loved Empyrean for so the other day when i heard no quarter is blew my socks off! I think it's the electric piano through a vcs effect, just sounds so intense. I think i read somewhere that the whole song is dropped a semitone using a vari-speed thing. just sounds like something john would do all over, you know like he was talking about 'using the whole studio as an instrument' or something.

When you said "murky"...both of the songs sort of sound like an orchestra/band trapped in a swamp with a vocalist submerged in goo up to his mouth. And since some people might be lazy to compare, I thought I'd help them.
