I'm curious to see what people like for their tone settings, and what to use if I wanted say, a mothers milk/bssm era tone. I use an orange rockerverb 50. I typically have the bass around 3-4 o clock, mids around 11, and treb anywhere from 11 to 4 o clock depending on my mood, and the gain usually maxed. What do you think John uses for those 4 settings on his marshall?

I put my bass all the way up, scoop my mids nearly out, treble around 60%, gain nearly full, with a hint of reverb. I feel that its quite close with my current practice setup. My '62 Strat hooked into my Marshall Valve-State.

But......

I typically don't look for an exact tone because John's tone comes mostly from his hands and heart, not his equipment.
1962 Strat - Sunburst
1965 Jaguar - Fiesta Red
2005 Strat Amvintage 1962- Fiesta Red w/ matched headstock
2007 Jag Amvintage 1962- Ice Blue w/ matched headstock
2007 Strat Amvintage 1962- Sunburst
2007 Tele Amvintage 1962- Antique Burst
2008 Squier Strat- Sunburst
2008 Firebird Custom Shop, Black and Chrome w/ matched headstock
2010 MJT S-Style Clone - a clone of my 1962, made so I wouldn't have to worry about theft of my original.

I agree with that completely. I'm really talking about a ball park figure though, do get just that "sound" and not dead on exactly how he has it set up.
