I haven't found any topic about their next album, and since there are news about it...
To see here :
http://stadium-arcad...pic.php?t=31105

An recent interview with Anthony Kiedis about their new album (and also some words about John's departure):

Interviewer: Do you have any music projects in the works?

Anthony: Uh, as a matter of fact I do, funnily enough.

Interviewer: Kay, any information?

Anthony: Well, we've been writing songs for about 11 months. About 11 months ago, our guitar player John Frusciante decided to move on and do other things, and it was one of those moments where, "Is this a good thing or a bad thing?" And then we realized, oh this is a good thing. For him, because he wants to experience other avenues, and it was a good thing for us as well because we happen to know a guy that we really wanted to play music with. And then we just started writing songs and now we have many to record. And we start on Monday, as in two days from this moment to record this music. And I'm pretty happy, with the batch of songs we have, yeah.

Interviewer: Any information about the songs. What type of style, traditional style that you guys have had in the past?

Anthony: Our style's a little bit on the undefinable side. I mean anything goes. You know we're fortunate in so much as we can play anything we want and it sort of make sense. Hard, soft, slow, fast, funky, heavy, jazzy, nothingness-forward-progress-anything goes-kind of thing. And there's a little bit of everything. But it is spirited and it does feel "of this moment" and it makes me happy to play it, to listen to it, to work on it.

Interviewer: Well I'm excited for it to actually come out once you guys record it.

Very good news to my opinion, I trust him when he says they really wanted to play with Josh.

I'll be direct and I don't care if anyone cares about my stupid opinion - that album's gonna suck donkey balls. Don't wanna give it a go, don't want to buy it, don't even want to illegally download it.

If there's ever a promotional article that mentions John, please send me an email about it. LOL :P

So I'll be direct too : You seem irrational to me. You seem to reject the album only because John left. Maybe you're right, maybe this will suck because they don't fit together or don't have any more imagination. But still, Flea and Josh are so good musician, when they played with John, they really brought something more, I can't imagine them making shit.

We just shouldn't just wait of the RHCP to be like they were with John. This is just like a new band with some very good musician and good friend of John. I wanna hear it.

The bands first 3 albums didn't suck and neither did One Hot Minute. Looking forward to it. Hopefully Flea steps up.

Seems irrational? That's putting it quite nicely.

I am very excited. Stadium Arcadium sucked....It was a major let down for me. Although I have all the songs on the album with just bass and guitars and it sounds much better.
Somewhere in between the sludge was a poorly written tattoo of a Chili Pepper lyric I saw on a cheerleader in high school.

Even though the music won't be the same, I'm still going to buy it. I respect Josh as a musician and think he is a perfectly acceptable replacement for John. If the album sucks, then it sucks, but I'm making no judgments until I actually hear the thing.

Does anyone else think it's likely that JF will be featured on a song or more?
It's not like John would have to go on tour with them, just have a guitar solo in a song or two.. or five :)
Omar has had that privelage, I don't see why their former guitarist would not.

I really don't believe it because they don't seem to be in contact with John anymore since he left (and even since the end of the SA tour), and Chad, Anthony and himself clearly said he left (but that doesn't mean they're in conflict).
But, if I remember well, Chad said in one of his first interview after the SA tour that they had not yet any material (at this time) for their next album except some demo from the Californication period (before or after John came back ?).

I would guess that John was involved in that demo.
I don't see why this doesn't mean RHCP wouldn't be interested in having john come up with a guitar solo for a song RHCP write. I'm just saying it's possible, and I really don't think they are in conflict.

Totally agreed with this post. I also think it won't be as good as when John played with them, and I've never been a huge RHCP fan anyway, but to diss the record so soon is kind of unfair. And Mr. Klinghoffer is a really talented musician so it might turn out to be good after all!

Chad talks about the new album and especially about Josh :

http://stadium-arcad...pic.php?t=31549

(the only thing "related" to John is that he says wouldn't say that Josh's guitar sound radically different from John's one)

The album is scheduled for the first semester of 2011, not before march.
The real good news is that they already have some dates booked for 2011's summer festivals.

Here is the complete interview : http://www.musicrada...enfoot-284879/4 (he speak also about Chickenfoot and his new Bombastic Meatbats album).

I was so so gutted when John left the peppers as I prefer his work with them than his solo stuff but somethings better than nothing and im looking really foward too this album to see what the injection of youth from Josh can do, it should be a good'un but I just hope Anthony dosn't try and rap anymore, he was great at it in his youth but he's to old for it now, his voice has matured to much and it sounds a bit off.

Anyone see the news the chili peppers are going to be suing some x factor person for ripping off Under the bride?
