[Phantom]

Hi,

I've been writing odd scribblings of words and poems (although i have no idea how poetry works) for about a year now. In the last hour i stared writing on my laptop and came up with this. Other of my writings are more story based and literal while others are completely nonsense, this one i think falls in between although i based it on an experience i had.

The Violet Pretender

Centre of attention
I feel the weight of the curious gazes set upon me
Expectation, fear, anticipation
The moment it hits I fall backwards
I sink into the floor that holds my vessel near
I have surrendered to the unknown
Pure energy
Colour and motion
I find myself somewhere else where this reality lingers distantly on the fringes
The illusion of separateness is removed from my soul
I am everything and everything is me
One entity rising and falling
Guided by eyes peering through kaleidoscope lenses
I am pulled in directions I do not know by tides I cannot control
I break through the surface
Strangers smile back at me their laughter cutting the air like a switchblade
Fear for dreaming
Hope for a nightmare
Longing for what
Is not there

Also i came up with some short quote like sentences


“An artist’s masterpiece should always be their life”
“Sexuality ruins more lives than anything else”
“When dealt a bad hand, deal with it”


Just wondering what people think of this, i know its probably not great but i'd like to hear some responses. I have other writings which i think are better so i might post them sometime too. Any feedback on how to write with more control over form would be great.
