How to count this John pieces in verses of Around The World?

They go completely out of Rhyme.

This is how to count the guitar part that begins the verse after the other instruments drop out following the intro. I think this is the part you mean. I've highlighted in red the beats on which notes are played. It begins on an upbeat (I've put a star above).
