I know EVERYBODY says that Anthony gifted John his '62 Strat when he rejoined the band. But what's made me doubt this is that throughout Off The Map the only Strat he plays is his '56/'59 maple fretboard. That and his 50s/60s (?) Tele are all he plays throughout that DVD and as we all know that DVD was made from more than one concert. So, if his '62 really is his favorite guitar why didn't he use it even once throughout those many shows? I feel that Anthony actually gave him the '56 and not the '62. But then I have no way to be sure. What do you guys think?
Is John's '62 REALLY the Strat Anthony gave him?

John only had his red Jag at the time of rejoining; Anthony lent John the money to get the '62 as he needed a Strat for the band. This I believe is John's account. The whole gift thing seems to have grown from this. Who knows? The maple necked 50's one came after.
