Hi.
I'm from India. In less than 10 days now, I'll turn 19. In the last few years a lot of things have changed in my life. Mostly things which I never wanted to change. But throughout this whole phase I've had one companion who stuck it out with me. Music. I've always liked music but I never really got around playing anything till I turned 17. At 17 I picked up the bass and a year later added a guitar to that. Two of the best decisions of my life. And I can proudly say that the person who really inspired me to pick up an instrument was John Frusciante. Even when I was only playing bass, John was more of an influence to me than Flea (weird, huh?) Even tbh, even though I don't know him personally, he has been able to influence me and teach me, not just about music, but about life in general. If I ever get to meet him, the first thing I'll do is thank him for whatever he's given me.
I also find it weird that, in spite of the Peppers having a big fan base here in India, so few (so VERY few) people bother to get into John's other works. I've tried to spread awareness and I'll keep doing. My way of thanking him. And he deserves it anyway.
Cheers.
Rohit.

Hi, welcome. I know what you mean, music is one of my favourite ways of escapism, when reality starts to suck it can help you distance yourself from it.

Also amazing that you're trying to get people into John's music, I admire you for that.

Hi. True that. Music really is my escape. And yes John really deserves the recognition. It also makes me feel good that for once I can give something back to him as well. :)

And thanks for the welcome. This really is a very friendly forum. :)

Hi Iva. :)
Funny thing, isn't it? Everyone either wants to be older or younger, even though everyone has to go through both of those phases anyway. :)
