Dudes and Dudettes!! How do you guys feel about great bands like The Foo Fighters or RHCP not wanting the use of their songs in the show??

I'm only asking this because a few months back I really thought Glee sucked big time, but after watching an entire episode I realized that it wasn't so bad...Actually I tought it was great! I can really identify with the way some songs are used in this show, it kinda gives them another dimension and in one episode they used The Human League's ''Don't you want me'' wich is one of my all-time favorite's...So I was kind of bummed that the Peppers won't let them use their catalogue which I think some songs would fit perfectly and be totally identifiable; also be great for this new generation and make them realize that past music is cool too! No hate but there's more than David Guetta and Ke$ha and Katy Perry out there...

Maybe they don't like the direction in which the show takes the songs they use, or perhaps they just dislike the show altogether.

I know if I hated a particular show, I would sure as hell not let them use my music.

Mainstream TV sucks. I have heard of this show but I never wanted to see it. But if it helps young people end up googing artists they have never heard of, then why not? I'd rather think of it as a way to introduce particularly thick people to something they might like.

Fenix: Hahahaha that's true ...nowadays TV is not that great, there are really few stuff that I like, like ''Modern Family'' and ''Seinfeld'' and ''ACME Hour'' at midnight . I want more shows like ''Friends'', I'm reaaally sick of those stupid shows on MTV! They need to play more music and more stuff related to music...even though I like ''I Used to be Fat'', great how people gain more confidence by believing in themselves, but it is kind of silly the shows they put out there! I know it isn't, but it kinda embraces the ''Teen Mom'' culture...I'm not a conservative but, that's just not cool...

Iva: You should definitely check it out! I was also like that, but once I saw it, it totally change my perspective on the whole production...Now what you said about the music: Preach! That right! I love how the mix 60's music with Gen X and 80's...it's pretty cool...The other night I was watching the episode ''Funk'' and it was so great to see Parliament/Funkadelic's being played on something that is available for the entire planet to watch! And the ''Rocky Horror GLEE Show'' was amazing too because I love the movie and now that great film can be seen by everyone thanks to the writers of Glee who used the super cool OST of the film and its main characters!

I watch HBO, because if it's not HBO, it's just regular tv, and no one wants that. But, a friend of mine did force me to watch an episode, and I immediately saw the mainstream appeal of the show, though on a personal level I found it to be a cheesy melodrama not unlike High School Musical. The singing is quality of course, but, I don't watch TV to hear a high school choir's rendition of pop songs.

maybe i'm just a bit odd but I actually quite like Glee.....I just enjoy good music & when they do good songs on Glee they really are done very well. Amazing production & some great versions of some tunes. I dont usually like any pop music so maybe I am just a bit odd! ;P
