I would kill for a professional recording of this performance, or for John to just throw it in on his next album. It isn't very much like anything else he's done, maybe a little like Shadows but the electric guitar/synth stuff makes me think of the empyrean. Thanks for posting.

Definitely seems to me to be most like Shadows.
I hope he does record a studio version, but it's been, what, 7 years since he performed this? Perhaps he didn't like it as much as we do and scrapped it.
