John Frusciante unofficial website - Invisible Movement is a non-commercial collaborative project made for fans of John Frusciante, former Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist and a successful solo artist in his own right. This project serves to update everyone onto what John's been up to musically; as well as to collect, preserve and protect information about his work. Everything you may contribute to this website is taken seriously.
invisible-movement.net is not officially affiliated with John Frusciante, record companies he's been publishing music for, his family, friends, domestic cats or anyone else...but they likely don't mind its presence.
You're more than welcome to connect with the both of the websites in this project on other social networks.

Now for some rules. Please, keep in mind that this community encourages intelligent discussion and isn't really friendly to fan-type babbling. We like to think that John Frusciante's music is intelligent and that it deserves to be discussed that way.

REGISTRATION:
- Only registered users can post on this board, see the Multimedia and Downloads forum as well as some sections of Off Topic forums; exchange private messages with other members and vote in polls. Unregistered and validating users can still read most of the board, though.
- You're allowed to register ONE (1) user profile. Do not register multiple profiles, that will most certainly get you banned. If you cannot log in or if you have forgotten your email address, write to iva@invisible-movement.net and explain what the problem is.
- Along with your user name, you can pick a display name different from it. You may change your display name whenever you feel bored with your current one. Keep in mind that you'll always be logging in with your username. The display name is there solely for cosmetic purposes.
- You may also use Facebook connect to create an account on the board.
- Please, no names of famous people and...well, try to be original, as there seem to be at least three people with variants of the name "funky monk" at the moment, which is confusing!
- Names such as ~PeRFecTLy ♡♥ In LoVe~ are no longer allowed. Please, have some taste. If your name contains special characters or is hard to read in any way, you will be kindly asked to change it. Restrictions have already been set for future members' names.
- PLEASE, SUPPLY A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU ACTUALLY CHECK! All people with accounts linked to disposable one-time mail boxes are at risk of having their accounts disabled. Why? If there's an important announcement, you won't receive it. If someone wants to be kind to you and send you something, you won't receive it. If you've been warned, you won't know. It's just useless, either way.
- In order to pass the antispam verification before you register, you'll have to enter correct answer to a random, simple question; as well as to resolve CAPTCHA. In case you're visually impaired, captcha is also available as a sound clip.
- Upon registration, you will receive a validation email. It usually arrives instantly. If it has not arrived, check your bulk/junk/spam folders or request the validation email to be sent. Click the validation link in the email you received (if it's not clickable, copy and paste it to your preferred Internet browser). Once the page loads and you're sure that your validation has gone through; please allow 1-48 hours for the administrator to hand-approve your registration. This is done to prevent trolls and non-robot spammers from joining the board.
Here's a correctly filled registration form, demonstrating the difference between the username and the display name, showing you where the quiz question is located and helping you fill in the social networking profiles (which is not obligatory, but many people get those links wrong).

USER PROFILE/PERSONAL PORTAL:
- You're more than welcome to fill in your personal profile and let the board members know more about you. Do not post any sensitive information. However, you're not obliged to fill in any of the fields, all this board needs from you is a valid email address.
- Personal photo is meant to be a photo of you, not of someone else. It can also be your hometown, your cat, something that really is related to you. All personal photos that happen to be of John, RHCP, album art etc will be removed. You are, however, still welcome to use those as your avatars. The standard rules apply for these - no porn, no politics, no religious symbols, no intoxicating substances and hints of using them.

POSTING ETIQUETTE:
- This might sound harsh, but no languages other than English are allowed in this forum. All the topic should be available to all the members and no one should have private conversations in languages the other people don't understand. A word or two is OK if you're e.g. greeting someone, a whole sentence isn't.
- Do not insult people for their different sexual orientation orlifestyle. Don't patronize someone because they're younger, don't let someone partonize you just because they're older. Use common sense. Don't make fun of people from any place in the world, what would it look like if they were making fun of you? Be careful when talking about politics, too. We can learn a lot from each other and in that case, differences don't matter.
- Controversial topics can be discussed in the Controversial Area subforum, available only to registered users. Once again, this is where you're discussing what's controversial to YOU and it should have nothing to do with John Frusciante. You're reading the Controversial topics subforum at your own responsibility.
- Please, be sure that you've chosen the right forum before having made a post. All the off-topics go to the OT forum. Help requests go to help forum.
- Topic/thread title MUST MAKE SENSE. It should be readable, descriptive, written properly and it should clearly explain what you're talking about. For example, the following topic titles don't make sense:
- CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!
- Help me?
- Question about a song
In short, nobody lives in your head except for you and they're not meant to try and decypher you. So, make it descriptive, put some sense in it and do not write it out in ALL CAPS or StIcKy CaPs.
The moderating team may make changes to topic/thread titles and subtitles, so people would know what they're about to look at.
- PLEASE, add http:// to the beginning of your links, otherwise they won't be clickable. The moderating team might come along to edit your post and make your link clickable, but you should do it yourself, really.
- DO NOT SPAM TO INCREASE YOUR POST COUNT! "I don't know", "LOL" and such are not useful responses, anyway. If someone has a request and you can't help them, you don't need to reply saying that you can't help them.
- Don't bump topics/threads based on what you have read in the first post, read the whole thing instead, it's likely they've been properly answered!
- Share, share, share! Sharing is caring *As long as it's legal, not against forum's privacy rules or proven to be a fake.
- Profanities are allowed as long as they're not used against fellow board members or in a particularly filthy/sickening context.
- If you're typing random line breaks risk getting temporary suspension. Trust my words, you don't have to hit enter when you reach the end of the post box. It isn't artsy, either. It makes things hard to read. The system knows how to break the text, just like Microsoft Word and similar applications do. Don't be stupid!
- All blinking images, anything that resembles Myspace "glitter", "comment images" and similar will be removed soon after they're posted. This is not a freak show, this is a message board. Same goes for text in unreadable colours, anything that's simply overdone.
- Avatar limits: no nudity, no political or religious imagery (anarchy signs and such are OK, just don't post photos of politicians!), no private parts, - no porn, no intoxicating substances and hints of using them.
- Signature limits: no more than five URLs, no more than ten lines, no more than two images (no more than one if it's an animation) and the max. image dimensions are 600x200. In addition to this, please DO NOT center your signatures.
Administrator and the moderators reserve the right edit or remove your avatars and signatures at anytime, should they be against the above specifications.
- At this point, there are no limits concerning size of images in the post body, but do not use the .bmp format - .jpg/jpeg, .gif and .png are OK.
- Do not remove copyrights off images you're posting, it's not fair to people who took them. Should you want to remove some fansite site's inappropriately ad from them, however...be my guest!
- Animated gifs are allowed at this point, but let's not make it tasteless, please.
- Do not use smileys in a particularly sarcastic way. If you really, really have to, don't do that often.
- Please no annoying abbreviations, text talk, oversized images and absolutely no wRiTiNg lIkE tHis!

RESTRICTED TOPICS - OFFICIALLY RELEASED MUSIC:
- Do not post/ask for links to download officially released John Frusciante, Red Hot Chili Peppers or any other albums; unless they're out of print and you're absolutely sure nobody would mind. Same goes for documentary and concert films released on DVDs.
- Do not post links to leaks of new releases.
- Do not post links to music that was not meant to be released and that was given to you or your friends personally. Respect the authors' wishes.

RESTRICTED TOPICS - JF'S PRIVATE LIFE:
Any topic concerning John Frusciante's private life (drug use, mental health, lovers of past and present, sexual orientation, vacations and trips et cetera) will be closed/moved to trash and any post concerning such matters is a subject to removal upon revision.
Any topic concerning stalking John Frusciante (giving out whereabouts of his home, talking about what's the best possible way to stalk him) will be closed and any such post in a thread will be closed/moved to trash and any post concerning such matters is a subject to removal upon revision.
All of the above include but are not necessarily limited to:
- Photos gacked from the social networking profiles of his family members, his domestic partner and close friends.
- Photos found on other places on the Internet (e.g. tumblr blogs and various message boards) that you do not know the source of, but they turn out to belong to the previous group.
- Photos you or your friends have taken yourself in uncomfortable situations, without the subject's knowledge or approval. That's sneaky and just plain rude.
- Excerpts of personal correspodence between you/your friends and JF's family members, domesticated partner and close friends (this actually happened). If you're good with these people, nice for you; but betraying their trust is something they would not be happy about. Be smart and treat them the same way as you would anybody else!
- Google maps (this actually happened).
"However, if I have seen John Frusciante at some other musician's concert/any other event, am I allowed to post about it?"
By any means, yes; as long as you were not doing something outrageous/something he would not be comfortable with.
Administrator and moderators' decisions concering RESTRICTED TOPICS are final. The administrator and the moderating team are NOT obliged to inform you why your topic was closed and why your post was edited/removed; as we would like to assume that you'd read the rules before you joined. Failure to abide these rules will result in a warning or an one-month posting ban, depending on what you have done.

IDIOTIC AND POINTLESS TOPICS:
Following topics may also be closed/moved to trash and any post concerning such matters is a subject to removal upon revision.
- Various petitions that make no sense - from bringing John Frusciante back to the Red Hot Chili Peppers to having him publish his autobiography.
- Topics about how great you are because you like JF's music...should I even explain this?
___________________________________________________
HUMOROUS TOPICS:
These are allowed, but they should not be offensive. It's a grey area, so please keep in mind that anything that's slightly overboard is a subject to removal upon revision.
___________________________________________________
SONG GAMES/WORD GAMES:
These are allowed, but they should be played in the Games and quizzes subforum.

SECURITY AND PRIVACY CONCERNS / BULLYING:
- Never give out your email accounts' passwords, credit card numbers, phone numbers or addresses in board discussions or private messages. Do not schedule meet-ups with people you don't know if you're not sure.
- Make sure people you know or fellow board members cannot guess your password. Use a password generator if necessary.
-If you encounter any problem of technical nature on the board, DO NOT POST A TOPIC ABOUT IT, as it might be a serious security treat for the whole system. Email the administrator at iva@invisible-movement.net instead.
- Administrator and the moderators are not responsible for desputes and incidents concerning you and fellow board members that occur elsewhere from yourforumsgluedtoasiteonfire.net/invisible-movement.net. Same goes for the desputes you might actually have with administrator and the moderators elsewhere. Do not argue here.
- Despite how friendly they are with you, administrator and the moderators are not obliged to be your friends on any other social network, by any means. Same goes for the fellow board members. Keep this in mind.
