hi everybody, i'm cheree'.

i'm 26 and currently living in the united states, where i've been for about six years. i'm originally from south africa. i love polaroid pictures and cameras, collages, my three crazy cats (one from all the way back home!), my two curious little rats, guitars and late nights with my headphones on. that's random enough, i'm sure.

i've been visiting the site for a while, and i love it... there's so much to explore. i'm excited to join the forum and bump into others who are moved by john f. and the music. i'm sure there's a lot to learn and share here, too.

hi iva, thanks for the welcome.

i have some pictures of the kitties on my tumblr page, mathanimal, if you want to take a look. sadly, jade passed hours after i made this post first post here. she was with me since she was a kitten (the mama cat of jade was also my cat), and for more than half of my life, so it's a very strange time now. she is very beautiful. i don't have any pictures of the rats on this computer, but as soon as i do i will put some up. they are very sweet and interesting so i'm sure you'd like to see them!

I'm sorry to hear about Jade. :(

And I like the photos. I do have a vintage camera myself (a Canon FTb), but I never owned a polaroid and I have to ask: did the film expire or did you manipulate it in darkroom or Photoshop?

i'm glad you liked those pictures. i know what your camera looks like, and it's beautiful. i love old camera's so much. but i have never used one of those, either.

as for those pictures you saw, the cameras were a refurbished "image elite" polaroid and an old lester dine dental model IV polaroid (this is built for close-up, but i like to play with it in any way i can). those are the pictures straight out of the cameras, no darkroom or photoshop. some of the film was expired and some was not. depending on how old the film actually is, and how it was stored, the results will vary.

thanks! and yes, all polaroids. different cameras and film, i just posted some info above to iva explaining a bit more.

also, i followed your comment and checked out your band. i enjoyed your "flounder" video!
