Quotes are actually stupid, because they're mostly sentences taken out of the context. Some of them do make sense on their own, but most don't.

I do understand your point, but still I wouldn't say so. Everything you express to another person in this world ends up being a quote in a way, anyway. The things you say, write or express in any of the ways given to us, step out of the context immediately when you send them on their way. They leave your intention and purpose at that moment. Yes, we sometimes are on the heels of the things other people mean, but like very often in this life, we never quite step in. In many areas of our lifes we are kind of standing on the door without ever entering.
So I think that just like when you are quoting someone, you are equally giving a new meaning to a symbol of some sort when it enters your sphere whether it's listening to someone or reading lyrics, your poems

A quote is exactly that, a quote. Something that stands alone and can be taken out of context. Furthermore, it doesn't matter what the context is, people will read what they will into anything. The message of these quotes is positive - that's all that matters.
"Take the prisoner downstairs," the guard said condescendingly.

A lot of the time that's true, but I think people are pretty good at mining little gems of wisdom out of a mountain of text.
"Take that fucking sign down." -John Frusciante
"Well, it was put to me by "that guy" when I was, like, four. So I went into my parents' record collection and found a rock'n'roll compilation. And when my mom asked if I wanted to move to L.A., I said, "Yeah," because I knew that was where the rock stars were. I was seven. Then when I found punk and listened to the Germs, I started seeing how I was part of this. I remember being out on the baseball field when I was 11, and I felt like such an outsider. Standing there in right field, I started making up an angry punk song in my head, and I went home and wrote, like, 20 songs in a row. I realized it didn't even matter if I knew how to play guitar yet." -John Frusciante
