Hey Guys!

Does any one know if John plays any of his songs on lower volume setting??

I know that many guitarists of metal bands reduces their volume with knob when they play clean sound to lower their attack.

Does John use same approach?

2nd question:
Is wet sand guitar part is recorded on max volume knob position on guitar?

I'm sure he does play with the volume, not sure if he's messing with the attack so much as changing the sound of his DS-2. Anything through the DS-2 you can hear the difference between maximum volume and say 4-5.
"Take that fucking sign down." -John Frusciante

"Well, it was put to me by "that guy" when I was, like, four. So I went into my parents' record collection and found a rock'n'roll compilation. And when my mom asked if I wanted to move to L.A., I said, "Yeah," because I knew that was where the rock stars were. I was seven. Then when I found punk and listened to the Germs, I started seeing how I was part of this. I remember being out on the baseball field when I was 11, and I felt like such an outsider. Standing there in right field, I started making up an angry punk song in my head, and I went home and wrote, like, 20 songs in a row. I realized it didn't even matter if I knew how to play guitar yet." -John Frusciante

Maybe just a little bit. I've found that cleans sound best if the volume is rolled down even just a notch. It always sound boomy and sterile with the guitar volume on 10. I have my amp set slightly crunchy and roll the knob down to anywhere between 5-8 for cleans and just max it out for crunch tones.
