Hey,
Recently i was watching the show at Milan, the one where John breaks his whammy bar during the outro and throws it into the crowd. Amazing show.
Anywho, when he was walking off i got a pretty good shot of his second Jubilee. The red LED indicating that it was on the lead channel was on.
Whats the purpose of his second jubilee?
He never played his LP the entire show.
Any thoughts?

I was at that show and they played far many songs more than how much mtv actually included in the "official footage"...
They played Me And My Friend on request after the most boring moment of the show (Snow...), so I guess they just use a "standard setup" for every show, just in case he needed it the LP was behind the stage with the amp ready to rock

Well, they played can't stop right after the intro jam (I was right in the 1st row during that, I could see how stoned john's eyes were LOL ), but of course that is not the jubilee lead channel! You can hear that in songs like readymade ie.

i'm just repeating what i've heard elsewhere. it does sound more probable that it isnt the lead channel for can't stop, theres way too much gain.

So to conclude it is purely a backup rig just in case he plays his LP?

Yep
You know, there are also another Jube and Major in a rack behind the regular stack, warm and ready just for backup in case the main ones fail... what a waste of tubes and amps ah?

There is a whole article about this on Rat's blog. I believe IVA should be able to point you in that direction.

Yup, i managed to find it, so its only ever used for 1 or 2 songs that uses the LP or the Gretsch.
Fair play. Also shows the settings frusciante uses.
Enjoy!
