Couldn't find another thread about this so sorry if there iss one.

I can't believe it I've got my first ever real Frusciante conversion.
It happened last night when a friend of mine was over and wanted to listen to him. She loved it so much that she wanted to borrow the cd.

One of the greatest things I've ever achieved.

Anyone else got a good story about converting people to the wonderful man that is John Frusciante?

Yes when I first played "With no one" for my friend at the subway, she started to cry because she thought it was so beautiful. :)

Yeah, I got a similar experience as you koalalover!

I'm sitting aroung with my acoustic and my big shield "no money, only emotions", playing some John tunes. A girl walked on by, looked at me and started listening to the music. I played "Curtains" from Niandra. That's touched her heart. She started to cry at "I know your face, it's all out of place". It's so nice, pure emotions :)

BTW: Now she's my girlfriend, music connect people ;)

Thank you :)
SHE's amazing! To put in this little time so much feelings, one sentence, 3 chords...and that's on the street. John gives me a person in my life, I wouldn't miss anytime. She connects music with love and her mind. She turns this chaos in the world for one second into a order. I think we should discuss this in a mail :P

I know a girl who has a different taste in music than I, mostly top 40 stuff, but lately I've been sending her songs I like and she loves them. I sent her a few by John, and when she heard The Past Recedes she instantly loved it (probably because its so accessible) and basically ditched the pop stuff.

i gave a bunch of nietzsche lovers frusciante they gave me nietzsche

it was as schopenhauer said of goethe ...

"Meandsays" they share a love for greek tragedies and the dionysan ...

He's not unknown in flanders ( like the peppers, volta & janes already have their connection with holland ).

I've also had rather nice instances where people were utterly distraught by the early albums .

I've only ever got one person to listen to niranda the whole way through and I think they did it to be polite.

If you're not used to that type of music it can be a bit hardcore for ssome people to listen to it and appreciate where it's coming from.

I really love "Niandra Lades", it's amazing. "Curtains" was the first Frusciante song I ever listened to and it almost made me throw up, I simply love this song.

wow, i don't know about the crying part but yeah, his music did have some influence in my conversion. He has his own genre that he portrays and it's just relieving to hear something different but at the same time amazing. I just wish that more of my friends would feel the same. Coming from a group of friends surrounded by pop culture, it's quite hard for me to lure them into JF's music because of the difference in styles. one day soon hopefully..

Last night I played "In Relief" and "Untitled #11" for some of my friends and they liked both. I'm trying to weem them onto JF. :D

I've steered one or two people in his direction. My old friend Will was talking to me about John leaving RHCP, and I told him to check out John's solo work and that he would not be disappointed. :D

None of my close circle friends have listened to his music and I haven't tried to get them too either. But I find that when talking music with people I meet through mutual friends, if they have heard of him and do listen to his solo stuff I get all excited and have a omgz reaction.

This friend of mine was really depressed because he didn't feel creative when playing his bass guitar anymore. He loves RHCP but hasn't had any type of access to John's solo music. I mailed him a copy of "To Record Only Water For Ten Days" and wrote a small note describing what John's process of "pretending to use his body as a tape recorder" was all about. He then called me sobbing and thanking me for such an inspiring album :D
