Hi, everyone.
My name is Siobhan and i'm a college student living/going to school in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. I'm not a musician and I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever but i've always had a great interest in rock/blues/funk bands and all the different instruments they use. So, that's what lead me to take a greater interest in RHCP. I've always liked RHCP songs but I didn't really start paying close attention to them until this year. And so, naturally, my attention gravitated towards John, in particular, since he's such an incredible guitarist. Anyway, it's great to find so many John fans in one place! I hope I get a chance to discuss John and his music with most of you as he is quite an interesting individual and this seems like a pretty cool forum.

Hi!
It's really not very unusual. I will admit that the spelling is weird though. It's a pretty common name in Ireland(it's an Irish name) and a good number of girls have it here in the United States but most of the American girls that have it spell it like Chavonne, Shavonne, Shivaune, etc.

Those three spellings are so crappy. I like the original. Welcome.

Hey Siobhan! I'm Mary Alice and I'm from the Jacksonville, Florida area. Not far from you at all!
Are you originally from Georgia or just going to school there? Welcome.

Hi! Nah, i'm not from here. I'm actually from Hawaii. I just came here to go to school. I didn't get into MIT so Georgia Tech was one of my backups. Speaking of Florida, my friends and I spend a lot of time over in Clearwater during the school year. We love the beach there...and it's the closest thing I have to Hawaii..

I bet the Atlanta area is a shock to you after Hawaii? More people, more traffic and interstates, less beaches, and you actually had WINTER this year. No snow here in Jax!
I agree Clearwater beaches are beautiful, I went to college in Tampa so I went there a time or two (not much, I'm not a big beach person...). So are the beaches in the Pensacola area, which I guess is my family's home as much as any place, and I remember visiting them with my grandma's sister during my childhood, as we would always to go Pensacola when I was a kid to visit the grandparents and my YiaYia's sister was a real outdoorsy beach lover. The water is such a pretty clear greenish-blue color. Here in the Jax area the water is a bit more murky color. I have many fond childhood memories of Pensacola beaches and I hope this oil spill doesn't ruin the beaches for future generations. BOOOOO to BP and offshore drilling! BOOOOOO!
