What is the difference between like a black fuzz face and one of those Jimi Hendrix Blue ones? I ask because at guitar center, theyve got a use black fuzz face and the only ones I see for sale on their site are the Dallas Arbiter Reissue and the JH Fuzz Face. Any body know anything about this?

like this? http://www.effectsda...lop/hendrix/jh2
they havent made jh-2s for a while now, apparently because they sucked.
i've never played one myself, but ive heard from a few people that they are pretty terrible sounding fuzzboxes. i'd just pick up a newer fuzzface or a big muff

Alright, yeah, I was thinking of getting the newer hendrix style one and a big muff, they get some pretty different tones from what I've heard, I was just curious about the black ones.

I would tell you to just get the regular Dallas Arbiter. Eric Johnson would respectfully disagree. Here's a youtube video so you can decide for yourself.

"Well, it was put to me by "that guy" when I was, like, four. So I went into my parents' record collection and found a rock'n'roll compilation. And when my mom asked if I wanted to move to L.A., I said, "Yeah," because I knew that was where the rock stars were. I was seven. Then when I found punk and listened to the Germs, I started seeing how I was part of this. I remember being out on the baseball field when I was 11, and I felt like such an outsider. Standing there in right field, I started making up an angry punk song in my head, and I went home and wrote, like, 20 songs in a row. I realized it didn't even matter if I knew how to play guitar yet." -John Frusciante

i think i prefer the hendrix fuzz. it sounds a little smoother in comparison to the sharper dallas fuzz.
