Premier Guitar Magazine has published two awesome articles about tone entitled "The Psychology of Tone" and "The Science of Tone"

Both articles are very interesting and i recommend that all electric guitar players check them out

Cheers fenderfunk, looks a good piece, probably read it tonight. As far as guitars go I've narrowed my ultimate tones down to two styles, which is fairly good going. Amps I'm still on the lookout though.
