In many ways inspired by John Frusciante, perhaps not as much sound-wise as thought-wise though.

I've taken to heart a lot of his attitudes towards music which has helped me work against recurring frustrations caused by my compulsive perfectionism.

With this album I've let faults and errors linger in favor of energy and spontaneity - perhaps not my wisest decision when looking at the finished product but believe me when I say that it was a necessary one. I finally actually feel joy in creating music again.

The music is a lo-fi, guitar-based and excessively melodic mixture of slow and very-slow tracks. Often experimenting with making the guitar sound synthesized and thinking of the instrument more as a keyboard than a guitar. The album is sort of ambient but with a bit more melody. Recommended listening experience would be to have it playing in the background when doing something else such as reading or going to sleep. That at least was my intended purpose and how I'm using it myself.

Download the album by clicking here.

Listening to the first track right now, i like it so far! You have quite an interesting soundscape going on with lot's of atmosphere. Nice melodies too!

Edit:

Ive almost listened through the whole thing and it was really really good. I had no expectations but i like your music alot. It was quality all the way through. This will go to my mp3player. Do you play everything yourself? Did you record in a studio? Really curious..

Just listened to the album. I loved it, atmospheric and emotional. I`m in love with the delay effect atm so I especially enjoyed those bits. Also, really nice piano playing!

I was listening to this in my big, dark living room while reading different things online. It was great to have the music in the background, gave me a nice, relaxed feeling and a sense of bittersweetness.

My favourite track was probably Newborn Cynic. Also enjoyed Slowburn a lot, a great ending to a great record.

You should be proud of this album and I look forwards to hear more music from you.

Glad to have fooled you! There is no keyboard on the record, it's just a Stratocaster played in a particularily static vibrato-less manner.

Thanks!

I made the artwork fairly quickly while listening to the finished tracks and I'm really pleased with the result. It looks like it sounds, I think.

Check the album out on Amazon!

It's still available for free from MySpace of course. Only buy it if you're feeling too rich (who ever does?) and a bit supportive. :headphone:

If anyone has an Amazon account and some spare time on their hands could you help me by typing together a review of the album? Sorry for being a complete whore - apparently being a musician doesn't absolve you of any debt or the dependency on food... gosh darnit.

It's also available on Soundcloud, Amazon, iTunes, Deezer, last.fm and more. :headphone:

Thanks! :)

Everything was done in Reaper, my absolute favorite DAW which is an opinion I'll always be very vocal about. Apart from having a cheesy name Reaper is just so darn well done. Sure there are crashes occasionally but function-wise it's perfect. Free 30-day trial and then a generous nag screen. The pricing is so sensible that not buying it would be a shame though.

But there's a lot of visible settings and the learning curve is a bit higher than other recording programs. I'd argue that it's totally worth the effort however. Unlike working with Cubase it doesn't feel like your being restricted by strange architectural limitations. Reaper makes things easier instead of harder, even down to the simple things like copy/pasting effects in FX-chains.

Regarding iTunes all I can say is "Huh... how annoying."

Unfortunately I have no clue as to what could be wrong. I figured everything was working fine but since I don't use iTunes I cannot verify imports. Could anyone please help out with this, PM me or write directly in this thread.

Might be something with the ID3-tags, or that the format is .mp3 and not .mp4?

And no, this is not a diabolical plan of forcing iTunes-users into buying the album through the iTunes-store. I'm not clever enough to come up with such a scheme. :devlish:

Thanks for sharing this :D
Now that the day has come.
I see myself as everyone.
I am whats all around me
No, nothing it just cannot be. Feeling has come from the sun.
Like most everything and everyone

What seems lost is free from the force that slowly destroys us.
And kills all matter off

Well, we dont control the chance that plays with us.
And we get existence back by hurting others.
And when we go the other way its ourselves we hurt.
But who pushes on though eventually will see

Every moments first.
Every moment is first.
Whats gone will never come back.
But it exists when you think of it
And what is anything, anyway.
But a series of things running through your brain.
All of the fucked things you do

Are the product of whats happened to you.
Whatever you create from love. Is a gift from the place which some call above

Theres only the forces of hate and love.
One breaks things down and one builds them up.

I've already posted in this topic and I haven't much more to say, but I still enjoy your music. I just listened to Thinking and it's amazing. Thank you :)
