I have heard a lot of great things about this delay pedal and Im planning on wishing one for christmas. Seems like a great pedal to me, with the hold mode and reverse for exampel. Anyone here have any experience of it?

well, i tried one out in the shop, sure all the features are cool, but the actuall delay was sooooooo lifeless and cold, no warmth AT ALL compared to my mxr carbon copy
i would say go analogue all the way, seriously, unless u only want the effect for the hold and reverse functions

i got one for xmas last year and i love it. but you have to know what your doing withit though. i adore mine, i use it as a delay pedal and i switch to the modulating mode and turn the feedback and delay time to zero and turn the level all the way up and use it as a chorus pedal. it rocks

I played with one a while ago and I did enjoy the hold function , I was able to get the delay tones and functions i wanted for chilis songs but I thought the reverse function was a bit of a let down . But that was for me and what I wanted it for . Yet for a recording scenaro id would be perfect if thats what your going for aswell and some ajmming .. tho studio tools can get that too .. splash out and get a line 6!!! :-)

just curious...
i never got into delay pedals, i could never find a decent use for them.
sometimes i could get a chorusy sound out of them, but thats about it.
when do you guys use delays in peppers songs?

Look into the Digitech Hardwire DL-8, pretty much the same as the DD-7 and though the loop feature isn't as long, a lot of people prefer it over the DD-7 for tonal reasons

What's gone will never come back
But it exists when you think of it

They are cool .. some people like the coldness in the delay .. people go for that digital robert smith delay sound, you can also so longer repeats on a digital delay vs. analog
I think a digital delay is a digital delay is a digital delay ... so there's no reason not to by behringher or some cheap digital delay for sound reasons, although boss pedals are extremely well designed and last. Line 6 DL 4 is the ultimate.
I have a DD-3 but I hardly ever use it because I also have a memory man, which is an AMAZING pedal

I've had a DD-6 for four or five years and I use it more than any other effect I've got, I think, except reverb. I love it. The Carbon Copy sounds really, really good, too, but I'm so used to my BOSS pedal that I can't switch. I like turning up the feedback and making some weird noises with it.
And after a friend showed me how to use the looper, I was so happy. So much fun. : )
To whoever asked about when to use it in RHCP songs.. solos and stuff, I guess? Especially Don't Forget Me. It feels so good to play with some fuzz and a bit of delay.

Get the Boss DD-20. It's got every flavor of delay, and it's worth the extra. It's also got a whole load of strange features that you'll be glad you have later such as reverse and modulated delay. Search for the manual, look through it, say WOW, and then check out some youtube videos.

"Well, it was put to me by "that guy" when I was, like, four. So I went into my parents' record collection and found a rock'n'roll compilation. And when my mom asked if I wanted to move to L.A., I said, "Yeah," because I knew that was where the rock stars were. I was seven. Then when I found punk and listened to the Germs, I started seeing how I was part of this. I remember being out on the baseball field when I was 11, and I felt like such an outsider. Standing there in right field, I started making up an angry punk song in my head, and I went home and wrote, like, 20 songs in a row. I realized it didn't even matter if I knew how to play guitar yet." -John Frusciante

I'd recommend the TC Nova repeater you'd like it more in truth

The EHX Memory Man With Hazarai is also really cool. You can dial in the warmth of the delay, the delays can get louder as they progress, it's a looper, you can speed up (with pitch change) the loop and reverse it. And that's just a bunch of it's features. Check it out!
