How are you guys breaking these things? I have had mine since a week after it came out, gigged with it for about 50 hours or so, practiced with it for thousands more, and still had no problems.

I don't know they just break! How I wish I had one like yours, mine is starting to fail now but it still is pretty good, sometimes it makes the notes I play oscillate like crazy in some points in the sweep but not always.

Yup unfortunately. Some days it'll work great as though nothing had happened to it and one day after like 1 hour of use it'll start crackling like crazy. Anyone know of a good true bypass switch that I can buy at Guitar Center online?

im sure its not becouse of broken switch.

my second wh10v2 is broken and i didnt use switch at all - it was turned on all the time and after 5-7 days it started to crack...

you said that sometimes its OK and sometimes its noisy - exactly like with mine. After some time it was crackling all the time.

Its one big joke from Ibanez... WTF

There's actually a fix for this:

"Take that fucking sign down." -John Frusciante

"Well, it was put to me by "that guy" when I was, like, four. So I went into my parents' record collection and found a rock'n'roll compilation. And when my mom asked if I wanted to move to L.A., I said, "Yeah," because I knew that was where the rock stars were. I was seven. Then when I found punk and listened to the Germs, I started seeing how I was part of this. I remember being out on the baseball field when I was 11, and I felt like such an outsider. Standing there in right field, I started making up an angry punk song in my head, and I went home and wrote, like, 20 songs in a row. I realized it didn't even matter if I knew how to play guitar yet." -John Frusciante

I second that, there isn't a wah that sounds like such an ideal wah as the WH10. Just the first wahs with yellow inductor can be compared to the WH10 but the WH10 still has a different vibe. I really do hate that Ibanez just couldn't take exactly the same wah and put it in a metal casing, how difficult is that? The housing has the same dimensions and all.

Also, repeating myself as I did many times before, a good true bypass switch that I can order in a big store online? It's that I couldn't order one from loop-master.com it was a little difficult and I would have to make a lot of transactions to make it work so I'd rather just buy one from another site.

i can't see the loop-master product because the link is dead...but i imagine its just a loop switcher pedal. you put the wh-10 into a loop ON...and use that pedal to bring it in and out of your effects chain.

I just got me a used DB-01 Crybaby for $90, and I'm still playing around with it, but it's pretty slick. If I keep it at the right position on this one setting I can get feedback with it, and I'm just generally thrilled (got warranty in case that feedback becomes an issue).

So my question for you guys is:
What's the "fine tuning" knob do?
What exactly is the "boost"? Just an overall volume boost? Is that a flat addition (like +X dB) or a multiplier (like 1.5x dB)?
Anyone got fun settings for this one?

I was gonna pick up a crybaby eventually (or just keep borrowing my brother's...) but when this came up for the same price I really couldn't pass it up.

Sorry I won't be able to help you with that since the only wahs I've owned were the Vox Classic Wah and the WH10V2.

There is something that really bugs me with Ibanez and that is the fact that I waited half a year to get it after they changed the release date like a thousand times and still they get it wrong. They got a pedal that had been working fine over the last 20+ years incredibly wrong, and all they had to do was use the same schematics and components and put that in a metal casing. I am so angry that I've now wasted like $150 for a pedal that doesn't work, and I could have easily saved that to afford a REAL WH10, not these pieces of **** that Ibanez is selling. Worst of all, since I don't live in the US, it isn't easy for me to change the pedal or to try out some of them until I get a working one.

So, does anyone know the real root of the problem? Is it the potentiometer that is causing all these problems? And if so, is there a way to fix that? Can I get another potentiometer? Or would I have to just give up with this pedal?

EDIT: By the way, the boost that the DB-01 offers is just a flat addition, it isn't a multiplier, as it is stated on the specs page of the pedal in any online music store.

Thanks, bobbybrenes!

I think the only way you'll find out what's wrong is finding someone who's good integrated circuits and shipping it to them.

Yes that is what I was aiming for. I wanted to send my pedal over to Dirk-hendrik since in every forum everyone talks marvels of him and he does seem to know his stuff. However, he lives in Netherlands and sending my pedal to him from Costa Rica is extremely expensive. I liked that he already had experience with the original WH10 so he could maybe find out the problem and, as he allegedly states, use the original parts for the repair. I also wanted my pedal to be fitted with a TB switch or something.

But, I wanted to ask in this forum. Does anyone know any good tech that you've had experience with or heard marvels from that lives in the US? Since sending my pedal over to the Netherlands would end up costing me like an original WH10 over at Ebay. Any help is appreciated, I just want to make my pedal work well after this much time.

Hi! I have same problem now, but I don't want to buy a loop or a True Bypass switch, i was happy with the Non-True Bypass sound. So my question is: Can I replace the broken switch with a normal Non-True Bypass Switch?
And would this switch work ?
Please help me.

porcelain, where did you buy your wh10v2? switch is ok? you don't have to push really hard to turn it on? thats good sign :)

I asked thomman.de when they will have new wh10v2 and they said that they will have new delivery at the beginning of July. Hope those new wahs from Ibanez are fixed.

manitou, sorry for misunderstanding. i mean that i did the "tissue thing" so it s not hard to turn it on anymore, u should try it if u r not already did it=). so i think its the same pedal as yours i think.
the only f.ckn problem is volume=)
