Check out the Gear (or 'My Pedalboard', which would actually be better) thread, there are quite a few people have Moogs, and answered questions about them there. Worth having a look, though nothing specfic as to which would be better for you to get first. You may have to look through quite a few pages though.

my local guitar store let me take home a few pedals, one at a time (charged against my account) to try overnight or the weekend. That was the only way to figure out what sound I liked that I could afford. Maybe you can do the same? Play around and have fun!

Let us know what you think about the mooger and anything else, ok?

your store actaully had them in the store? for my guitar center you have to make a special order.
hmm. i was thinking of making a special order to try them out though. but since im 15, its going to be a little hard. ive been trying to look on youtube. but when they do have it on there, they only go over one knob. its really annoying.

moog pedals are pure music sex

and the most beautiful pedals (and synths and what not...) ever made

but I think I wouldn't be able to try them out in the range of probably 500 km from where I'm living... so it pretty much sucks... but both MuRFs and phaser are awesome... and the Voyager synth blew me away (well, only through YouTube, but... oh well... :D)

I took home some pedals, not a mooger. Tried a wah, blues, compression, chorus, and something else.

Flanger would be fun to try, maybe that's next.

They know me at my local guitar store, I have bought a few things there. :)

At my guitarstore, no matter if your a first timer or an old custommer of the store, you get 8 days to take the pedals you have bought home and try out..
If they shouldn't fit you the shop refund all the money back to you.! Now that's a nice service :)

out of all the moogerfoogers, what would be the most needed.

I agree. If I could get a moog, I'd get a murf. But to explain in it a nutshell it's a series of filters that can be adjusted with each slider.

I think that MuRF is the one John uses live in Dani California for the bridge ... not sure, though

He ran his signal through a murf / bass murf 7 times or something on the original version :)

Didn't he run it through his modular synthesizer? I was watching the making of Dani California and I remember him playing the parts he uses his murf live on with the synth.

You should always have a good demo before you buy. If you can afford to buy whatever you want go for it, otherwise have a good think about often you'd actually use the FX. I know quite a few people who've basically bought a pedal because thier favourite guitarist uses them and they now have a lot of very expensive gear that they hardly use.
