So I've been looking all over the internet for an affordable vinyl copy of Shadows Collide With People, with no luck unfortunately.
I feel like you guys are my last chance! Any suggestions?
Note that I'm in Europe (Austria). Thank you so much!

Yes, I've seen one on Ebay recently, it was a second-hand one but people spent a lot of money for it (it was an auction) !
I so would like to have it too ! :bouncy:

Yeah why did Record Collection stop putting out the vinyls?

That one is a Warner Bros LP, so it would probably be manifactured by someone else. And we all know what they are like. Maybe someday they put it up as a golden mumbojumbo edition and colour it red, so it's an OMGZ COLLECTORZ' ITEM!1!!!1!1!

I got mine one year ago for only 16 dollars, from an eBay store called Euclid Records. Since I can only use eBay if there's an opportunity to pay directly with a bank card (no PayPal), I was surprised and impressed.

So...how much do they cost now? O_O

Such a shame it's not available in stores anymore. :(

I couldn't even find a copy on eBay, there's only this one guy who's selling his entire JF vinyl collection. I've been sort of eyeballing it but it's already up at $172,50 and with 29 bidders envolved the last minutes are going to get ugly. We'll see ...

Thanks for your replies though ;)

I had a huge luck to find a new, sealed one for only $15. Unfortunately, it's very hard to find a cheap copy of it now :(

It's just a proof of how stupid the overall human kind is. When he published a new album, everyone SUDDENLY wanted the previous ones.

Yes... I remember walking in the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood, and they had TONS of 'Shadows Collide' and 'The Will To Death' vinyls in the bins. I thought that they would never 'go away'... Of course i didn't get either one... :frustrated:

I don't agree. If you happen to find out an album that you really like, wouldn't you want to hear and have the previous recordings of that musician as well? We all know that there are very few people who've been listening to John since Niandra, many of them 'discovered' his solo albums around 2001 or even later.

2001? That's actually pretty good. A bunch of this year/late last year's newcomers on the board actually had no clue about him during RHCP's last world tour. I guess we cannot predict the point in life when we'll discover something.

(2003 in my case, just to make it clear...)

I bought a copy of the Shadows Collide With People vinyl in Valencia a few weeks ago, for only 20 euros.
I found it in a really small record store and the guy who sold it to me told me that he had gotten it from the Netherlands.

That's a great find. Little indie shops seem to be the place to search. (I've tried all the ones I know of)

I wasn't buying vinyl when the albums were released so I just got the CDs. Now that I've started buying it again (I got new turntables) I could never find them and I wouldn't pay crazy money for them. I've never had so much trouble trying to buy music.

Making really limited pressings suck because people who really want to listen to the music get stung by having to buy at an inflated price. The sad thing is that lots of nutty fans ran out and bought up most of the stock on the record collection releases to add to thier collection and I'm sure that plenty of them don't even have a record player. Plus there's the usual asshats who buy them up just to flip them on ebay later.

i agree its so hard to find johns records on vinyl, a few of the ones he put out in 2004 are near impossible to find. i just saw for my first time in a few years of searching inside of emptiness, curtains, and the will to death on vinyl go for sale on ebay because someone was cleaning out their collection and each one sold for $80 and up. Thats just crazy and i would kill to have Inside of emptiness on vinyl it would never come off my turntable

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone know if the vinyl edition of scwp was mastered from the original tapes or cd? i dont trust warner brothers to do it from original tapes, so i have a feeling the vinyl wont be able to sound like anything more than a cd with a few clicks and pops added...
