the catchy pop songs flea wrote around this time were also great, such as "ouch", "you got stuck", "love them so" and "how could i love myself"

i am looking forward to fleas first solo record. i am really, really happy he is finally going to release one

How do you know he is going to release one?

Wikipedia.

"Flea also revealed plans to release a mainly instrumental solo record that was being recorded in his home; guest musicians include Patti Smith and a choir from the Silverlake Conservatory."

He said that in an interview about a year ago. I really hope he releases an album, but its not at all guaranteed that he will.

I saw an interview for Conan O'Brien on youtube of Flea, and he said he was gonna release something then, too... :/ so I'm not sure if this will actually be officially released.

Up until now i have found that most RHCP fans absolutely hate One Hot Minute....I've come to think that if John played instead of Dave great songs on it such as 'My Friends', 'Aeroplane', 'Falling Into Grace', among others would be much more popular even if the songs were the same. Hopefully that makes sense...I just wanted to find out what the rest of you guys think about the album.

I personally thinks its a great album...its up there with all the rest.
personally i got the album from the library and never listened to it. im sure its great but its not the chilis without join. sure ive heard some songs on it but like i said, not the chilis w/out john.

Not the Chilis without John? You do know John was not a part of the Chili Peppers for their first 3 albums right? I understand that there are many people who do not like One Hot Minute, but don't say "its not the Chilis without John", because their first 3 albums are the definition of the Chilis.

i know. :surrender: i guess i dont have a thing for navorro. probably cuz he doesnt have the same passion for music as fruscinate or slovack. i think that if hillel and john were in the band at the same time, it would be unbelievably amazing.
navarro is a great guitarist, but he doesnt have the same passion as john or hillel. im more of a passionate kind of guy towards music.

I would say that Dave is pretty passionate when it comes to music. I'll also say that he didn't quite fit into the Chili Peppers as well as Hillel and John, but they still managed to make some pretty good music together. I'd at least give the album a listen before forming an opinion on it, you might be pleasantly surprised at just how good it is.

Come on you gotta be kidding. Just listen to the entire album a few times yourself then make an informed opinion.

A really nice approach, not just to OHM, but, well, any album in the world that might be putting people off for no reason.

You have to be kidding JF4ever, you're talking as if you know John, Hillel and Dave in real life. You can hear the "passion" throughout the whole album.

Navarro is an absolutely awesome guitarist, with style, slick, and some serious chops. He showed how awesome and diverse he is back in 93 or whenever it was when he merely joined the peppers. Going from JA to the chili peppers, what a transition, and he made a killer record. The problem is, its not at all in the vein of the chili peppers. Don't compare it to any chili peppers stuff and have a listen, its pretty good.
