this is for all the musicians in this here forum. what kind of instrument do you play? how long have you been playing? anything you specialize in?

i play a little guitar. i own an acoustic starfield from the mid 70s. its in great shape and sounds awesome (just not when i play it!) ive been playing for about 9 months. i love playing anything by john, jack johnson, modest mouse, and anything else my ears like. i also play a little drums, but i never got very far with them ::) oh yeah i play a mean didgeridoo too, lol it sounds terrible when i play it

I play guitar, well I'm learning to play guitar, well hey how do you learn unless you play? ha ha. Sorry, I know I talk rubbish. I always loved the sound of string instruments and when I was 8 and my parents wanted me to take music lessons, I really wanted to learn guitar and/or piano...they made me learn flute and recorder. When I was a student my brother taught himself to play guitar and he taught me all the basics, and then he left home when I was just about learning barre chords and I couldn't get any better and gave up, mainly due to lack of time as well as I started full time work.

I always regretted it, and when I discovered RHCP I regretted it even more, and someone said to me well it's never too late. So last October-ish I started to learn again, I'd remembered all the basics tbh and, inspired and enthused as I was by John's playing, I came on really quick. I'm proud of how well I can play now, although saying that I don't mean I'm great or anything, I have a horrible habit of playing stuff that's way too hard for my current level of skills, but that's how I learn.

I have a blue Yamaha Pacifica (I couldn't afford a strat, so a strat-style had to do for now) and a natural Tanglewood steel-stringed acoustic which I "adopted" from my brother as he had abandoned it with knackered machine heads and a right mix of strings strung really badly, some of which from an old bass.

I can sing, too. Well, I mean I can sing in tune and stuff, but not really high.

But tbh, I prefer listening to music.
"The real adventures...into the mind, and now, we can again scale our own mountains in a majestic inner landscape, soulscape, and find Atlantis again;...The first point at which twin flames divide, still forever bound in a spiral dance. This feels like full circle; I'll unpick every thread of connection woven through time, and when our souls collide once more, our crystal hearts will raise up, breaking into another plane." ~ From Atlanteana

I've got a cream Squire Strat electric guitar. It's really beautiful, a bit battered and bruised though lol. I've only been playing about a year. I'm getting there though.

My very first instrument was an acoustic guiar when i was about 7, (which made me feel great until i realised i couldn't play like great rock musicians) i then took up bass (self taught, inspiration from the likes of Flea and Les Claypool) when i was 17, not long after that i got a dijeridoo and started to get to grips with that great dirty earthy sound i could create, and last but NOT least the guitar. i love music and good musicians.....(john frusciante)

I've been learning guitar for 2 years..but have been jumping around from teacher to teacher.
I used to play the clarinet when I was younger...don't know why I quit.

I'm a guitarist. My acoustic guitar is a shitty Sunrise guitar, but my electric is a Samick signature edition guitar. It resembles John's guitar in the Fortune Faded video, not exactly but something like that.

I play guitar..I have been playing for umm about 6 years.

My electric guitar just broke, it was a mexian tele and also a piece of shit.

But I just bought a brand new Martin acoustic, so I'm quite happy with that.

I also play some bass.

I can't even imagine trying to play right-handed!! Well..I did try once..and my playing was enough to make you wish you were deaf.

Left handed all the way. ;D

Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez... the list goes on. There's a whole slew of fabulous left-handed guitarists.

But we all should know who my favorite right-handed guitarist is.. JF himself.

I've been playing guitar for a few years now I own a beautiful green Epiphone Les Paul, and my first guitar a Yamaha acoustic from sears ;D. Once I have enough money back in the bank I need to invest in a nice acoustic-electric, and a decent amplifier.
