I don't think he uses one cause if you notice whenever he plays live he has to sit down cause he uses a mic under his vocal mic to mic the guitar

thanks! that is almost exactly like the system i stumbled across the other day (<a href="http://www.kksound.com/purewestern.html">K&K Pure Western Mini</a>). They are both transducers that get affixed to the botom of the bridge plate. I heard this K&K system installed on a Yamaha FG460-SA acoustic and it did an excellent job of accurately reproducing the natural tone of the guitar.
barrettisgold, you don't happen to recall where you read that about the Amulet do you?

$1500 USD plus I've had some work done to it. It's not in mint condition by any means either. It has been played ALOT! I love it!!! You'll have to really hunt for one in decent playing shape though. I am just always on the hunt for cool guitars, amps, and effects that I can't live without. I visit local pawn shops and guitar shops in all the cities i stop at on tours and during travel.
Yes, it is smaller than the standard dreadnaught acoustic. It has a warm sound from the mahogony wood and really tight bass response. They just sound great all around. Older Martin's can either be an O, OO (double O), OOO (triple O), OOOO (quadruple O), or D (dreadnaught) shape. O's are the smallest and D's are basically the biggest. The number signifies the trim level of the guitar. I've heard some dumbasses tell people the number signifies the size or number of frets, etc. NOT true at all. a 15 is the lowest level of trim or the most plain jane model.

It was with out doubt the best live acoustic pick up system I've ever heard. There was no harsh tinny sounds. It was honest and powerful and really showed off the tone of John's 0-15. It plugs straight into the PA system.
Trans Audio Amulets aren't cheap though, and getting an experienced repairman to install it correctly is another matter.

Awesome! I pretty much decided on this system already. It's only $550 plus $366 per each additional guitar (expansion kit) and I've had so many shows go terribly wrong sound-wise because of guitar issues that this amount of money is peanuts compared to the benefit of having my kick ass guitars sound their best.
Thanks for all the help with this everyone!!! This is a great forum!
