Yeah you must reverse it twice......and then it is back in the original form but with the reverb you added when the track was reversed and so you get the reverse reverb sound..

EDIT: Yes I got it to work on FL Studio, I love it.

I currently do all my reverse reverb on logic 8's plug in space designer.
As John stated on the japanese interview he used an EMT 250 and AMS RMX16 for all reverbs.
For cheaper modules, i'm going to get a Yamaha SPX90 as used by My Bloody Valentine for their reverse reverb shoegazing

Haha, thank you! My days of substance abuse and repeated listening of Niandra La Des... are long gone but I guess you can still hear it in the music...in a sober way!
I'd like to hear snippets of how other people have been using this technique. It would, perhaps give people better examples of how it can be used.

today i made an attempt to use reverse reverb. it's not a real song (yet) but i'm not feeling like "completing" it because it feels finished to me. i enjoy listening to it and just wanted to share it and thought that this could be the right place and thread...it sounds best when you listen in stereo to it because there are doubled parts on the different speakers which create an atmospheric sound. i liked it best with studio headphones....it seems to be suited for dark living rooms and has to be listened to as loud as possible ;-)
enjoy!!
by the way, the links would be:
http://www.myspace.c...ariusbotzenhart (song is called untitled # 1)
or
i just made a little video with some pictures ( i don't know why but i think the youtube sound quality is a little better. i could cry when i hear the mutilated sound of youtube/myspace uploads....)

I would like to know how i can make the effect of After the ending. I read : "there are no reverse vocals. Only echo is reversed hence the feeling of the whole whispered part being reverse
I started with the reverse ; what are the steps to follow
I put an echo on the voice track & un reverse this echo (how can I put the echo (of the vocal track) on another track ?)
Thank you

i'm not sure if this will work, but for me you should:
1º Duplicate the track
2º Reverse the track
3º Add 100 % wet echo
4º Reverse the track again
that should do the trick

How do you reverse your tracks? I mainly use Garageband, and as far as I know, there's not a reverse option in it. My friend installed Logic Pro on my computer for me, but I can never seem to get recordings to work on there...
Never mind this post, I downloaded Audacity. Shit's pretty cool, I had a song that i wasn't sure where to go with, but now that I know how to do this reverse reverb trick, it's coming along pretty nicely!

Ironically reverse reverb is one of the few things that is more involved to achieve on a DAW than it is on analog tape.... that's how I used to do it... you just load the tape onto the pickup reel, swap reels, run it backwards... bus the required track or tracks through your 'verb unit and print to another track... load back onto the pickup reel, swap back round, and there it all is for mixing.
