I used AutoCAD for the architectural drawings.
The computer renderings were made using Google Sketchup, which is a free program that you can download off google's website.
and yes, lol, it took me a lot of time. I hope the schools I'm applying to like it.
I thought this was a good place to post it as I was listening to JF's music when I made a lot of that stuff. It definitely helps with the process.
Thanks for the feedback!

I'm assuming this is your grad school application? Or some equivalent? I can't say that I've got your education system completely figured out
I'll look this over, and re-post observations and comments, if it's not too late now, since you posted this over a month ago? It's always inspiring to see other students' projects.

Girls, don't you realize you're doing exactly what he hoped you'd do? This whole 'I'm an aspiring architect' is just him trying to impress the girls.
Like all architects, he's just trying to impress his mother and win a nice girlfriend.
You all disgust me.

No. You disgust me. What you posted above is just fucking offensive. Your assumption that women go ga-ga as soon as someone says they want to become an architect is uncalled for. Two questions:
1. Do you really think women are that gullible? Since you believe that playing the architect card is all it takes? Damn, how'd I ever be able to get anything done at uni if that was the case?
2. And WHAT is wrong about working hard to become an architect? Did you check the pdf at all? There are a couple of interesting projects in there. With a LOT of work behind them. Or did you think it's just about making something look cool? Anyone can do that. At least 50% of any project is of research, site studies, movement/flow, light, materials, social factors, and complying to a set project program, to name a few. A pretty house isn't automatically a good one.
As Iva already said, I AM an architecture student - halfway to my bachelor's in architecture/architectural engineering, thank you very much - so of course I'm interested in seeing other people's projects.
This is the artsy forum. People post their work here for critique. And they're proud of what they've done, and if they weren't, they wouldn't post it.
Architecture is art. How is this different from any other thread in here, or in the Musicians' section? Do you bash the guitarists in there too, and the members who comment on their posted work? 'Cause EVERYONE knows that girls are suckers for musicians, and that musicians only want to get famous and laid, right?
Clémence asked about the software used to make the renderings. Iva commented on the content of the pdf. And my enthusiasm was due to the fact that this is the first architecture-related post I've seen in these parts of the boards, since I joined. How you managed to translate that into us getting all excited over a male architect ON THE INTERNET (<insert drool smiley here, right?>), is nothing but a mystery to me.
Delightful poem btw. Ehh.
Over and out.

Maybe. But with women though, that's generally how it works. Pretty = good.
So I would have thought it would work the same with houses.

Me and the boys compare our penis sizes in the locker room all the time, so I can relate with your interest in sharing. You and I aren't so different, apparently.

Bash is a little strong of a word. I prefer "verbal spank" Yes, I dish out some verbal spankings when it's called for. It just goes with the territory of being an advanced spiritual being.

That's almost ALWAYS the case.

I get excited over females on the internet all the time, and I think they get excited over me too.
You have really offended me this time! Many people enjoy romantic relationshps over the internet! What, are you sooo above that, or what?

One things for sure - - nothing I've said on this thread was even remotely sincere. The truth is that I just like pretending to be more pathetic than I am, because it makes me laugh. Sometimes it makes others laugh too. But it might not be for the good of their spiritual health, unfortunately.
Keep up the hard work toward being an architect! Don't let idiots like me get you down!
Sorry!

edit: tons of posts at once.
However, thanks for the apology and clarification there. At least you're aware of your issues. It counts for something.

Ignore Freyr, he is a troll.
189 posts of pure bullshit designed to provoke a reaction out of other board members.
I do admire his perseverance.

Whoa! There hadn't been a comment on my stuff in a while, then I come back and see this thread blow up! Whoops......
Anyway, I worked for a bank for about 5 years after college and mostly hated it. I always loved architecture but never really knew how to get into it (or if I'd be any good at it). I eventually started taking classes at a local community college and it's worked out so far. Still waiting to hear back from schools (and it would be three more years of school, and a lot of money that I don't have, to get a a degree).
Thanks to everyone who has taken a look and I welcome all feedback!
