Your way does sound better, much more harmonically correct, but not the way he did it.

Agreed, in GW's tab, that's what it says and I'm pretty sure it's correct cause I think that tab was based on how John played it in the lesson...
But that's if you want to play it the way he played it there

Right? But after this I don't have a clue. Can anyone help me?

That's how I usually play it, but in the Guitar World tab, it's pretty much the same chord but you got the play the B on the 9th fret G string as well

------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -x-10--9-9-9--11-11-11-11--10-10-10------------------------------------------- -x-11--9-9-9---0--0--0--0--11-11-11--x-x-------------------------------------- -x-11--9-9-9--11-11-11-11--11-11-11--x-x-------------------------------------- ----9--7-7-7---9--9--9--9---9--9--9------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it's:
--------------11-11-11-11------------------------------------------------------ -x-10--9-9-9--12-12-12-12--10-10-10-------------------------------------------- -x-11--9-9-9--11-11-11-11--11-11-11--x-x--------------------------------------- -x-11--9-9-9---9--9--9--9--11-11-11--x-x--------------------------------------- ----9--7-7-7----------------9--9--9-------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, they have the last chord down as:
-0- -0- -6- -7- -7- ---
and I think it's:
--- -2- -2- -2- -0- ---

The last chord is more like you said panicked. I do think the e should be played open though. Which makes it:
0
2
2

i always play the last chord like this
E--0
B--5
G--6
D--7
A--7
E--x
it's just a regular A - but with E in the bass - so A/E actually

Huh.. That's not how John does it. Well, he doesn't do it in the interview where he plays under the bridge at slow and normal speed, if I remember correctly. But who cares as long as it sound right and good
