The album reviews section of the site is quite big. However, there are dozens of reviews for two specific albums and often a very, very poor number of reviews for other albums, which culminates in the case of AWII.

Should there be a section for Invisible Movement readers' album reviews?

EDIT: Typo fixed, it should be COLLABORATIONS and not CONTRIBUTIONS. :)

Yeah, why not. I voted for the Peppers as well, some of JF's best work in there. Let them in and see how it goes as a trial period. I will get to my ones soon enough. :D

I voted for "even for major contributions" because I think it's important to know what people think or feel about john music, but first there would be necessary to read the articles to publish only the best. So on the one hand I believe that's good to open the reviews for readers, but on the other hand I think it's necessary a selection.

omg, I don't know if it's understandable what i've wrote... :S

Perhaps it's my fault, as I wanted to write "collaborations" and not "contributions.

Iva, thats the section I would prefer on the visitors reviews. I dont want to cut out the Peppers because I see them as one and the same. Im not sure what you meant, although I did clear one word that made a lot of difference on my original post :)

I voted for the third option. I think it is possible to make a rating system for registered users so each review could be rated. This way it will be possible to separate really good ones from worse.

There is a plugin that could merge the site and forum registered users (the site does not allow user registrations, as of now) and that would be helpful when it comes to tracing comments and ratings in general. But I'm not sure if I have the courage to mess with it.

Sure what can go wrong?! :) I suppose many things but there is no harm trying it out! You could always scrap it if you think its not working or if fans don't like it. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Well, you don't want to know, it's a huge list. O_O

I voted no, but I guess I would like to change my vote to yes(and include all work by John, even with RHCP). I voted no originally because I do not like to read album reviews, EVER. Some of my very favorite albums have received horrible reviews from many different people, including those at Rolling Stone magazine. I don't care what someone else has to say about an album or an artist, I like what I like and someone else's opinion is not going to change that. That being said, I realize that I could just not go to that part of the site, so that is why I would like to reverse my answer. If someone wants to write a review, that's awesome, they should do it. However, I don't think that only positive reviews should be allowed, because that would kind of defeat the purpose of having a review section and of being able to weigh the pro's and con's of other people's arguments. So, yeah, those are my humble thoughts on the subject. :)

I think no because a lot of people here will already be familiar with John's work. Some people will favour his acoustic work ála Curtains over 'A Sphere...' (Electronica-ish)due to generic preferences and attitudes towards certain types of music. Another person's opinion may colour how another person perceives the music. If I listened to reviews and went straight into the more commercial 6 albums in 6 months as opposed to starting with niandra, i think i probably would never have listened to that album. It is crazy but the good and bad in the album is what makes that album good in it's own right and is essentially a piece of stand out material
