I would kindly advise everyone on the forum not to use images in .bmp format in picture thread or any other thread.
If your browser is saving images in that format, then I assume it is Internet Explorer with full cache, which is a problem that's easy to fix.
Follow these steps.
1. In the Tools menu, navigate to Internet Options.
2. In Browsing history, pick Delete....
3. Hit the button on top, to delete Temporary Internet Files.
4. The above might take some time. Once it's done, close your internet browser and open it again. Images should be saving in their normal format from now on. Remember to do this every now and then.

What format are pictures saved in if they have been saved on to paint because i think they are bmp?+

You can go to SAVE AS and then pick jpg.
