I really want a Strat with i nitro finish.
Try out the Road Worn '60s Strat. Most likely modeled after the '62, so you'll be getting a very Frusciante-style strat.
thanks, but i want one that is new and looks it so that it can become worn from my own use over time.
Try a Highway One model would be my suggestion. Pre-2006 are fairly cheap compared to other MIA Strats. Post-2006 are better made but mroe expensive. All Highway One models have a nitro cellulose finish.

What is MIA? And are all the Highway One strats with a 70's-headstock? I hate that.

I don't like it particularly aesthetically, but it keeps the guitar well balanced, probably better than normal MIA (as you John Frusciante says, Made In America) strats; which I do like. But it's worth trying one for yourself and seeing how it feels to play etc.
Personally I don't mind the headstock that much, it's not the most important part of the guitar for me.
Did you spray your guitar according to a guide, eg painting it completely white first, then applying layers of paint every 24 hours etc? Because if you follow a good guide you can get good results from a personal paint job.

those big headstocks are ugly as shit
I'm painting my guitar (similar to Van Halen's frankenstein) and it looks really like a piece of crap compared to these Fender's pro paintjobs... xD
BTW, guys, does anybody know what cables does John use for his guitar and pedal connections???
I remember reading a Dave Lee interview and he said that he connects his pedals with monster cables. For his guitar, I think it's the wire that came with the wireless system.

one thing came to my mind today...
I wander who was the first owner of the guitar? Can you imagine somebody who sold guitar and (if still alive) watches John beat it up...
And what is the difference between pre CBS and CBS Fenders??? I'm not an expert on parts and stuff, so I don't really understand that... I think pre CBS have 3-way switch, but I always thought John's strat has a 5 way switch...? Any info...?
There are alot of differences, cbs bought fender from leo fender in early 1965, they brought in mass production methods of making guitars. before cbs came in fenders were all hand made. alot of fenders thats were pre 1965 had a 3 way switch but many people changed this out because a 5 way is more convenient. also from 54 - 58 fender strats only had maple necks like johns 55 (or as he likes to call it a 57). in 1959 fender started using Brazilian rosewood which john seems to favor (as do i). materials like that rosewood were not the cheapest and were considered the best but to cut costs cbs removed many things like that. there are many more differences like the headstock shape form year to year but if you look up pre cbs fender in google you can find alot of history.

maybe he just doesn't treat them as something holy like we fans do
when he finishes playing, he just throws it on the ground...because he doesn't care or because he just feels like doing it...
Really? Is it true, or did you just make a joke? I don't beleive it.
This is a really old comment I know, but I just wanna' show everyone he does really do this
I'd hate it if everyone just skipped the entire song, it's a great one and probably one of the best live performances of it But if you just want to see the part where he drops it, skip to about 5:15 and watch it from there
I doubt he actually throws it at a wall or something like that, he's just a little careless with it haha
