After watching Utah beat the Lakers a couple of days ago I checked NBA.com for the stats, and saw Flea's face at the bottom of the page. Apparently he's been writing a blog for the website since January 2008

It is only about the Lakers, but he says some interesting stuff like:

Quote

i know that, for myself, when i am on tour playing shows, that i want
to put on the deepest most intense show that i can every night

and sometimes, i push so hard i try so hard to jump out of the
building with the music that i tense up and dont let the magic flow
through me

but when i remember to just surrender to the music and open my self
to it flowing through me, then i have ten times the energy, play way
better, think of great things spontaneously and without effort, play
them fluidly,

and i am at the top of my game

I don't know. I find it all interesting because he writes the same way that he talks (from what I've seen in interviews, of course). So to me, it's kind of like hearing him talk...only about sports. From somehow manifesting his expressions in text form ("booooom bop! baaaaaaah!!!w3hoooo luuuuuuuuuuuuuke")

To things like

Quote

it is my fervent hope that losing this game last night will band the
lakers together and they will, by virtue of their togetherness, be
able to play with a unity so glowing with light that it will light up their game in the darkness that lurks in the
dreaded salt palace or whatever that place is called

It's all very nice and very Fleaish.

Anyway, I get the feeling that this is old news, but I thought I'd bring it up just in case someone was interested.

No, I've never actually looked around at the chilipeppers website :)

I googled it though; thanks for the heads up.

If you're talking about Fleamail entries, then no: others are in Archive or something, don't remember, but you'll be able to find it easily, I suppose.

fruscianteisbog1, yes, I mean the Fleamail on RHCP's site

Flea's May 24th entry is awesome, its all about him playing the national anthem on trumpet at game 2 on Friday. I recommend everyone read it, its pretty cool. And I saw the performance, it was solid.

There's also this hilarious part from his most recent entry:

i remember back in 1990 and i had another 2 year old (clara) who is
now 19 and her mother and i had gotten divorced and she went to stay at her mom's
house with her mom and her mom's boyfriend (a bulls fan), and came
back home wearing a chicago bulls' jacket, i really freaked out
the child support and alimony and all that, yeah that's one thing,
but this was personal , that really didnt help our post marriage
relationship at all.....
anyway, it goes without saying that the bulls jacket said hello to
mr. trash can

Yeah, its a really great blog. He knows his stuff. He has alot of faith in the lakers and he loves the game. His commentary is easy to understand. His words on game four of the finals were heartfelt.
