Then I learned In Relief. Only difficulty here is F chord.
Also Jugband Blues (some difficult chords may be replaced with easier ones) that John covered.

B|-0---0000---0000---0000---0---------|-4---4444---4444---4444---4---------|
G|-1---1111---1111---1111---1---------|-5---5555---5555---5555---5---------|

E|-0---0000---0000---0000---0---------|-4---4444---4444---4444---4---------|
Then:
C:

e|--5--5-5-5--5-5-----4-4--------------------------------------------------|
B|--5--5-5-5--5-5---x-5-5---9-9-9-9--9-9--x-7-7----------------------------|
G|--6--6-6-6--6-6---x-6-6---9-9-9-9--9-9--x-8-8----------------------------|

A|--7--7-7-7--7-7---x-4-4---7-7-7-7--7-7--x-9-9----------------------------|
E|--5--5-5-5--5-5---------------------------7-7----------------------------|
Repeat A,B,C
For the solo just impro in B major.
*T = Fret with Thumb.
so there is something to keep you busy for now.
good luck with your guitar playing!
dont give up when you get frustrated.
when you are playing... just relax...have fun and rember that it doesnt matter what you are technically capable of yet...as long as you play from your heart, and it makes you feel good to strum those strings, thats all that matters.
it will get easier with practice.

I'm a beginner too, despite playing on and off for 3 years i'm actually commiting myself to learning more than a few chords this time
I too was wondering what John songs to start with, so all this has really helped, thanks everyone
