Yeah he once played a see-through guitar lifo, but I'm not shure if it was in the californicaton period. I also do not know it which brand it is. But it think it is the one he also used in the dani california video.
And there is also a blue little Stompbox next to micro synth. It think it is the MXR blue box but I really cannot recognise it. I just think its the blue box because its the only little blue effect pedal i know.

I thought it was Grohl's guitar also, but John plays it in the Dani California video too. That tour with the Foo's, does anyone know what year that was? Was it even Californication era? or By the Way?
Not that it's all THAT important. It's just a footnote anyway.... It's not like he used it on record or anything.

They're on tour with the Chilis on the Off The Map Tour. But you can't see him playing that guitar on the dvd.
Here is a picture with him an the guitar. He has a mohawk so it could be from that time. But of course it wasn't the only time he had a mohawk.

And its not the same guitar young John Frusciante posted.

Oh yeah, you're right. Looks like the same make though. Same body shape, bridge, different pickup I think.
Maybe they're custom made. I'm too lazy to research it now. Tomorrow maybe

Guitars:
-Electric guitars:
-Fender:
-1962's Stratocaster (3 colors "sunburst", offered by Anthony Kiedis for his return in the band)

-Stratocaster maple-necked '55 ("sunburst" 2 colors)

-Stratocaster 1961 (olympic white)

-Stratocaster 1961 (fiesta red)

-Jaguar Red Fiesta 1962

-Telecaster 1963 Custom ("sunburst" 3 colors)

-Mustang 1969 dakota Red

(It's the first at John's right on the picture, otherwise simply because I love guitars... he is holding a Fender Jaguar, the first at the left is his famous '62 Stratocaster, the 2nd at the left is his '55 Strat, the last at the left is his 0-18 acoustic Martin and the last at his right is a Rickenbaker)
-Jaguar White

-Precision Bass Olympic White (rosewood fretboard)
[img]http://www.invisible-movement.net/gallery/d/6297-2/LTpage01.jpgimg] (On this picture this is the third from the right, just next to his wonderful Gibosn ES 335 Dot) -Gibson: -Les Paul 1969 Custom Black Beauty 2 pickup

This is also the one that he's got in the San Fransisco's Performance with Michael Rother and Josh Klinghoffer

- SG 1961 Custom Cherry Red (the one that he has in the Fortune Faded video, and also the same as Robby Krieger of the doors

- SG 1961 sunburst (Used for the Joy Division's tribute show)
( Sorry, but I don't have a picture for the moment)
-ES-175 1950s vintage (its looks like his Gibson ES 335 Dot, but we can notice that this one is only cutaway, whereas his ES 335 Dot is double cutaway (yes, I 'am maybe a little bit crazy...)

-Gretsch:
-White Falcon 1955 (found by his friend Vincent Gallo), He very often uses it for Californication and Otherside in live, and we can also see it in the Californication's video.
I'd say this is one of the most wonderful guitar of the world, in fact it's normal: the most wonderful guitar of the world for the most talented and amazing guitarist of the world !!!!!!

-Rickenbaker, I don't exactly know the model, but with my knowledge of guitars, I'd say it's 12 strings 360/12 model.
(It's the one that he uses in the Dani California's video, as you can see in the picture below)

-Acoustic Guitars:
-Martin:
-0-15 Small bodied from the ‘40 (he's got two) He very often uses it in live and in his solo shows, as well as in "The Past Recedes" & "Road Trippin'" videos.

-Martin 12 strings:

This time, it's the first on the right, we can see it thanks to the 12 mecanics, which mean sthis is 12-strings
-E 12-36
(Sorry, I've no pictures for it !)
-0-18 small bodied blond

We're not actually doing the whole picture thing yet, just trying to get a really super-accurate list of everything John's used for each era of his career(very confusing!). But when we do need pictures and stuff we'll know where to look!
I like the pic of John on the couch with all the guitars

Thanks,
I didn't know that this was by era, I tought this was just a list of everything.
For this list, in fact this is all the equipment that he has right now, it's not including the guitars he has before he re-joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1998. I haven't a lot informations about the gear he used before, except that he uses an Ibanez in 1988 when he first joined the peppers, he also had a Gibson Black Beauty around the same time (I don't know if it's the same he has right now), and I know some of his equipment at the BSSM period :
He had a green fender jaguar (the one that he uses on Under The Bridge's video) a Martin acoustic 6-strings Dreadnought (in 1998 too, but watching the pictures of this period, we can guess it's not the same, as the 1998's one is darker than the 1992's one), a Stratocaster of course (I think it's even the '55 Strat that he still has, but I'm not sure) and that's all I know for the moment.
Otherwise, I know some dates of the guitars he acquired and that he still has:
-He has had the '55 Gretsch White Flacon at the time of Californication (so around 2000
- He also had the 0-15 Martin around this time, in fact I've learned in an interview that Rick Rubin had gave Anthony Kiedis one, and Kiedis has lent this guitar to John (around the Californication's time), who has really appreciated this model, so he has decided to bought two martin 0-15
-He has had the '62 Strat in 1998, when he rejoined the band, as I've already said,
-He has the White Olympic Stratocaster and the red one since 2006.
Here is all I know ! Hope, that it had helped you !

What I was actually going to do in a few days time was put up a list in that thread combining what we've done so far. Milk, BSSM, Niandra/Smile and Californication. So that people could have a check over everything for mistakes. Iva thought that would be the best way to go about it and I agree.
I guess then would be a good time to start adding pics. Preferably from these earlier albums/tours too.
Then we'll move on and do the same thing with the albums he put out from 2000 onwards.
