I found a pretty good view of Johns MM era live pedalboard and it's something i haven't seen before, there's no CE-1 for example and there are two other pedals, one seems to be a DOD chorus: (at the beginning, when he swaps the guitar)

Yeah, it's a DOD Stereo Chorus FX65! He talked in interviews always about a Boss Distortion (DS-2), an Ibanez Wah (WH-10), a Stereo Chorus (DOD FX65), his old, big, grey and ugly Boss Chorus (CE-1) and about a MXR Phase Shifter (Phase 90). The other pedal, hm. Looks like a Boss pedal...

sincerely,
Chili

yeah but we still have the issue of what pre amp module he used for the recordings and tour, because that is what the basis of the tone is it could be a mesa, could be a marshall, but i read in one interview he used a soldano and also in another that all the knobs had frozen in one spot, but he liked the tone that way, any photos of his rack from the early era??

Well,I think this other Pedal could be a Boss RV-2, because it has two outputs, but I'm really not sure about it...

FINNALLY, i have found out what amps John used for the recording and beggining of the tour,

Mesa Boogie Studio .22 preamp module (x2) both went into...
Mesa Boogie Stratagey 400 Power amp (x1) which powered...
Mesa Boogie 4x12 cabinets with Vintage 30 Speakers (x2)

all seen in this photo

John's Wiki page says the Milk Ibanez was an Ibanez RG250. Can anyone confirm this?

There's not much info on this period out there so anything will help, thanks.
It's not like i can confirm it, but it most probably was an Ibanex RG250dx, as this is the guitar he bought when joining the Peps and it was basically his only guitar (maybe apart from a Strat, but am not sure).

I listened to some live songs from 1990 and I recognized, that John really used a reverb at that time.

You can hear it very clearly in the solo of Stone Cold Bush or in the jam after Subway To Venus 1990 in Japan:

The RV-2 was built from 1987 to 1990. So I think, you're right with the Boos RV-2 Digital Reverb.

Edit: I got a RV-2 for little money and I try to copy John's sound from 1990 - and I got it! In the "Panning Delay" mode of the RV-2 I get exactly the same result. And with the "Gate" mode you can copy the little reverb in "Taste The Pain" very good. Now I'm pretty sure, that John used the Boss RV-2 Digital Reverb in 1990.
