Ive been using elixirs for years. But i started using some different .13 jazz strings and now i get an allergic reaction on my finger when i play. I cant tell whats going on. It even happens now with the elixiers sometimes. Anyone exprience this or heard of this before? Its the weirdest thing.

Donīt they use nickel in most strings? Could that be a reason? ...maby itīs stupid, but some people are alergic to nickel... but thats more like earrings and piercing... but if youīve played for many years then maby thatīs not the reason... aahh... i dont know, Maby! Look it up!!

To be honest, I don't really care what brand I use. When I was in America, I used D'Addario (switched between 9s and 10s) because they were the cheapest I could find, when I came back to Australia I used Dunlop and now I use Fender Super Bullets (cause they're the cheapest the local store has, which isn't cheap at all @ $13 a pack)

Super Bullets make my fingers smell ;(

I use GHS 12s on all my electrics - change them about every 3 or 4 weeks on my Jaguar. Or actually, whenever I feel like the guitar should be restrung. I order my strings from thomann.de, a set of 012-052s costs €3,22.

for anyone who has trouble changing strings, but also for anyone who doesn't: here's a helpful thread. If you can't read Dutch, there's still very useful pics. I never had problems changing strings, but it used to take me half an hour for 6 strings - now I can do it in 10 minutes.
