Jeez, just reading over the comments from page 10 onwards and im rather miffed that people cared more about Johns Album than someone who had Lukemia.

That just sucks that so few people said best wishes or anything. I know Johns is amazing and im as fanatic as the next frufan but come on, it wouldnt have been hard to just give 2 seconds of your time to wish him well.

I wasn't really on the forum when all this came out so I sort of missed it, but still, not good =/

Enought of the negative vibes;

This just goes to show how life can just be so cruel to some who dont deserve it, I didn't know you but

R.I.P Mando, im not religous, but im sure your rocking out somewhere =D

I had not realized what was going on here and in the real life while I was too occupied with my exams.

This is really sad but there's nothing much to say. I just wish that people around here had cared more about Armando's disease rather than the news about the album. I'm an atheist so I just hope that he had had a great life.

i have a feeling that it's finally done and that at the moment there is only the process of getting it released, because it seems that john has more time now to play with different people ;)

I don't post a lot, but I manage to get to the boards whenever possible. I didn't know Mando...but I certainly feel a connection to him. I was deeply saddened as I read along and discovered what was going on and eventually what had happened. I was even more touched by the fact that members of the band had contacted him. It was the least they could do and I'm sure it put him at ease even more. I have been a huge fan for many years and have got to know quite a few other fans. I have always told others who were hardcore fans I consider them my brothers and sisters. I've just always felt a huge connection to those who have a deep love of RHCP & John Frusciante. Another thing that touched me about Mando is that he recorded one otheir shows. I too try to record as much of RHCP to share with others. I do it for the love of their music and the love of the true fans of theirs. It may seem as though I'm rambling, but Mando's death, even though I only found out about it today has truely made me sad. I would like to say, that even though I had never conversed with Mando, he was my RHCP brother like many of you are. We all love you Mando. Thanks for making your time here a pleasure to us all.

is there any new information regarding Solo X that anyone knows about? I'd be so happy just to know a release date.

Exactly. And I hope it won't be related to any tragedy in any way this time.

Considering John's idea of recording quickly, what he talked about in that Tape Op interview and those old updates from Ryan Hewitt's Myspace, I'm going to be optimistic and say that the album's done.

Sadly, his official website is often down, his Myspace is never touched and no one from Record Collection seems to be interested in answering emails. So, I'm betting he's got problems with his record company. Does anyone know anything about his contract/arrangement with RCM?

I remeber someone suggesting he should start his own label, because he has problems releasing things often, and also RHCP for that matter.

Man if he had his own label that would be great. He should just have Ian McKaye's label (discord) put it out.

I thought about the same thing, Ian is a great guy and I'm sure he'd help John out. Plus, thanks to the amazing principles that he sticks to; he could be a good role model during hard times.

Haha, I think I was the one who suggested that he start his own label. And then I felt really dumb after, because I spoke to my friend who has greater knowledge of the music biz than I do, and she told me that it takes a lot of time and effort to start your own label. I just thought if anyone could do it, it'd be John.

I don't think John would start his own label. It takes a lot of tedious work and business knowledge to get a record label going, and I just don't think John's into that kind of stuff. I'm pretty sure he would rather focus all of his energy on the music.

ha, that reminds me of a recent interview with Omar Rodriguez Lopez sometime ago :)

i can't find it but he told that his current contract allows the mars volta to release 1 album a year, but he wants to release at least 4 albums, so he wants to start releasing everything under his own label omar rodriguez lopez...he doesn't want to make any solo albums anymore, because he says that they are just everything that didn't fit on the mars volta albums and he had to release the songs otherwise.

pretty sick :(

I'm pretty sure John would never start a label. He's clearly not a businessman, and he couldn't be bothered to deal with that stuff. But I'm sure there's plenty of indie labels that would be thrilled to work with him.

Also, I'm convinced that he's got more than one solo album on the way. Judging by the amount of time he's had off, the rate that he records at, and the number of songs he has written (I read over 40 songs even back in 2006 or 2007). Personally, I'd be shocked if he's only recorded one album by now. You can call it an educated guess, but I'd be willing to bet on it.

I hope it comes out soon. I am getting really nervous--not in an ominous way, but that the album been's ready for some time but some legal or business mumbo jumbo is holding it up. Total paranoid speculation on my part, obviously.
