i think when 2 single coil pickups are set together they are called hot rodded i think. another question... what year is johns black beauty? nevermind wikipedia said it's a 69 black beauty.

Now, so nobody will get confused:
The Singelcoil pickup was invented before a humbucker pickup. Two single coil Puckups are Put together for a Humbucker. It was invented to cancel out the unwanted Hum you get from Single Coils. So a Humbucker are two Singlecoils wired together next to each other.

Ther are hot rodded Single Coils and Humbuckers. Hot Rodded doesn't mean that 2 singel coils are set together it means most of the time that they have a higher Output, thats all.
