If it's a song that I've played many many times until I've worn it out in my head; like Scar Tissue; Then I can't listen to it and enjoy it as much as before. So I try to learn as many new songs as possible and not keep playing the same ones over and over again; cause it's terrible when I can't enjoy them in other ways like when I excersize to them.

hearing a song without knowing the patterns or any of that, gives it a mysterious trait. like you sit in your room and go, "how the hell did they come up with that?". then you go about learning the song and you can see how they did it. it takes away the mystique a bit, but it makes me feel closer to the musician. their skills aren't so out of my reach. i dont like to think that really good musical skills are only for certain people. music is an art form that anyone can and should take part in.

For me it kinda works both ways, like LaraMay says if you have played a song a million times it kinda looses it's magic. Therefore I hardly play Scar Tissue any more. It is also the reason why I don't want to learn how to play Soul To Squeeze on guitar, because I love the song and Im afraid it'll loose
it's magic when I learn how to play it on guitar :D
But on the other hand songs like Search and Destroy or Dani Caliornia I have come to like more because of playing those songs on guitar..
