But some years ago I was obsesses with foorball (soccer). I just watched every match I could from TV and couple times I even went to see the Estonian national team in action... The day when I saw Estonia vs Portugal in Tallinn was going to be the best of my life. And I actually cheered for Portugal. And the players I was obsessed with were: Nuno Gomes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan Baroš, Ruud van Nistelrooij, Raul Gonzalez and Luis Figo.
Now I have calmed down about football but I still really enjoy watching the matches...
Dogs are my second obsession. I love cats and other animals as well but I just ADORE dogs. If I go to visit someone who has a dog one can be sure that I can be found with the dog.
You rock, rock.
The rock just sits and is.
You show us how to just sit here and that’s what we need.”

However, it's normal to be dedicated or commited to something, especially if it makes the world a better place.

Interesting thing is that what all of this stuff -- including the schizotypal episodes I've experienced from time to time throughout my life (usually in conunction with stimulant abuse, which is essentially the same thing as an even higher dose of adderall yet) -- has in common is disregulation of dopamine, whether by being too high or too low. And in researching the neurochemistry behind all this stuff, I've discovered that pretty much all the psychiatric and neurological problems on the one side of my family are all related in one way or the other to out-of-whack dopamine levels. So, the approach to treatment is three-pronged -- medication, cognitive/behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes including improved nutrition, regulated sleeping habits, exercise and kicking the non-prescribed, out-of-control self-medication with stimulants out the door. Feeling about a kazillion times better, and I'd advise anybody with any of these problems to seek professional help as it really has been life-saving and utterly transformative for me. I've lost damn close to a hundred pounds since I've been in treatment, because my impulse control is vastly improved and my lifelong sugar-addiction has finally been abandoned once and for all.
So, that's not much of a confession, but seemed worth posting, anyway.

I agree with ya' except for the last part.
Like Allan Watts said there is no 'i', we're all one big thing, 'nature' ( not as science circumscribes it though ) if u wish which is "obsessed" withbeing as open as can be.
I disagree with "world" because there is no such thing. Also, the making "the world" a 'better place' idea is pernicious; it favors the female instinct & by extension the , now widespread, instinct to acknowledge only that which is (directly) visible.
Don't worry i just felt like writing a bit of nonsense & your entry worked well to jam off of,seeing as you were already tangentiating, i hope noone minds nor thinks i'm a doctor or some stuff.

I was obsessed with RHCP and particularly, Anthony Kiedis, prior to learning of John's solo stuff. A lot of rhcp songs to this day bring me back to truly appreciating AK's sensitivities, the depth of his experiences and his ability to express them in a very poppy yet soulful manner (Scar Tissue, I could have lied, This is the Place, Hey, among others). Hey is particularly one of my favorite songs of all time.
Also, literature, Charles Bukowski. His poetry, short stories and novels create such a feeling, there's no bullshit, it's life with all its edges intact.

Musically, I mean I've got really into a lot of bands and musicicans but I wouldn't call a lot of them obsessions, I don't think. I guess the few I would call that would be Eminem and Linkin Park from when I was a teen and just now The Beatles, John Lennon, Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Frusciante.
Lately I guess I've got obssesed with locking myself away in the bedroom with a bunch of instruments and trying to put some sort of music together, much to the annoyance of my bf. I can't help it, it's addictive.
Space documetaries. If there's one on, I'm watching it, even if I've seen it before. Apart from music nothing excites me more. I'm a complete physics geek, and maybe have a mild obsession with Brian Cox lol. Although, I've been into physics for many years...way before I knew about Brian. I feel this should state this.
When I came to the conclusion I was an atheist, I got really into studying evolution because I'd heard about creationism...which I don't buy at all obviously but I really wanted to make sure I was clued up about what the actual way of things was. We evolve and I wanted to understand how.
The only time I've even been obsessed with any sort of food was like 10 years ago when I went through a spell of craving Bounty chocolate bars.
I loved the Harry Potter books growing up, but doubtful it was an obsession. Someone came on Mastermind a while back and their specialist subject was Harry Potter and I thought, yes I'm gonna nail this! But no, I did awful. Therefore, was never obsessed lol.
And recently I love animals. I mean I've always been an animal lover but as of late I want to save them all from cruelty and go to the Serengeti and go on safari.
Also, I was in California a couple of years back and I tried surfing, now there's something I could get obsessed with. One day I'll pack up my bags and move there and surf every day and play music every day and have a wonderful life. A girl can dream.
