Supposedly from a Twitter account from someone close to John (who doesn't even know how to drive a car so surely enough doesn't tweet).

Looking for a duel overdrive pedal

I need a few suggestions in order to make my pedalboard chain smaller. I usually run an 80s TS9 into a Klon Centaur for the transparent clean boost, however I want to remove both of those pedals for a double overdrive pedal a la King of Tone or Fulldrive so I can fit my FM4 into my chain. Can anyone recommend a double overdrive pedal that has a transparent boost with a good overdrive similar to a tubescreamer?

Thanks so much.

By the Way 10th anniversary!

Today (we're putting the.. o h wait..)
I realized that this year is the 10th anniversary of By the Way which has come to stand out as one of the most unique albums released in the 21st century. In July I hope to make a post about this nostalgic event in the main forum but for now I don't want to get ahead of myself. Today I listened to a different song order including most of the b-sides and found it was very enjoyable and helped a lot of the songs to stand out in new ways. It is a work in progress and although this forum is sometimes quiet i would love to hear lots of different By the Way song orders during this year!
all thoughts about the album are welcome, especially. My current main comment is that some of John's most creative songs are on this album and that's saying something.

when i was done listening i realized I forgot one b-side and then thought about a related song to include to make it even longer!

: ) I really got a lot out of hearing this! It is in so many ways their most cohesive work because they were trying very new ideas that other 21st century musicians have not been able to work with effectively. I did not listen with the added songs at the beginning the first time, I liked This is the Place as an opening song but also found Slowly deeply to work when leading up to Fortune Faded! I found that Venice Queen does sound just fine as an emotional climactic point mid album, but it could also go at the end. Midnight as the closing song really moved me...

John Frusciante picture thread #3

Here we go again! The previous two threads were packed with images and the second one was, sadly,

RULES:
- Do not post photos invading John's privacy. This includes but is not limited to photos scrapped from his relatives and friends' social networking profiles, photos taken in awkward situations without him knowing etc. We don't care how badly you have to see what he drunk, whom he was seen with etc. Do not post screencaps of such video clips, either.

- If photos contain pubes, genitalia, backsides or breasts (female, not male) post them as links. They're not forbidden, but not everyone wants to bump into that or get fired. Also, add the note NSFW (Not Safe For Work).

- Do not post photos from which you cropped off the copyright, if there was any. That's not nice.

- Do not post photos of other people, unless it clearly is a joke of some sorts.

- Please, NO ANIMATED GIFS of hearts, roses, teddy bears. Have some taste.

Two hard rock tracks

Hello everyone,

I've done some recording lately and would love to share two in particular with you all. Both are uptempo hard rock tracks.

"7 Billion" - influences for this one: kind of a cross between Alice in Chains and Muse. Halfway through it gets a dose of trippy sounds added in with the heavy riffs. Lyrically it's meant to be an observation of this twitter/internet world; the significance people think/hope they have in a world of over 7 billion.

"Dizzy Days" - this one was more influenced by Guns N' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots (so maybe Velvet Revolver?) The first guitar solo was a one take improvisation. It took longer to set up the gear than to record the part which is nice. The second solo took a few more takes though haha.

Both songs were written, produced, engineered, and mixed by me. The performers are listed at each link. I played most of the instruments but can't take credit from the other guys.

I spent a ton of time working on these and I'm very proud of the way they turned out so if you have a moment please take a listen. Thanks so much!

The ULTIMATE Ibanez WH10 thread - to end all the others

Apparently, the phenomenon of WH10 topics on this forum was acknowledged by a fellow member and we thought that's where it ends. Apparently, IBANEZ WERE AWARE OF IT, TOO.

The product manager of Ibanez pedals and amps just wrote to me to let me know about the biggest news ever. WH10 is being reissued.

Quote

Hi Iva,

I am a big fan of your page. I visit it all the time and you have really done a great job keeping it updated. I have some info that I was hoping you would list on your page. I am the product manager for Ibanez pedals and amps and I'm a massive massive John fan. So it was only a matter of time before I was able to reissue the WH10 wah pedal. At tomorrows NAMM show in Nashville we will be unveiling the WH10V2. The pedal has been recreated and is the same as the old pedal with one upgrade, the case it metal not plastic. The casing looks exactly the same and we even kept the same colors and all. This is extremely exciting for me as this pedal has been a favorite of mine for years and I am lucky enough to be in a position to reissue it. It will sell for $99.99 in the US and is available in the fall. I want to get the word out to John fans that these will be available and they dont have to pay $400 on ebay anymore. Thought this would make good news for your page.

Thanks

Frank

So, yeah, if anyone's going to NAMM in Nashville, you'll get to see it before everyone else does!

My Last Song

Hey everyone, just wanted to say how much I've appreciated the support and sense of comradery that I've found on this forum. This is the last of 3 songs I recorded prior to graduating from college, and I'm now looking at what to do with my life, which may or may not involve further recording efforts. So this'll be the last thing I post for a while, hopefully Iva hasn't gotten mad at my spamming of a new song every week lol.

Anyways this is my personal favorite of what I recorded and is intended as a feel-good song going into the summer months. Hope you all enjoy it.
